Beef Noodle @ Lee Fong Yuen Coffee Shop, Desa Jaya

It was very early in the morning we were the first customers to patronised the shop. We took the opportunity to chat with the proprietors and found out that they have been doing the same beef noodle for the last 30 over years. Their business has been very good and obviously it's popular as far as beef noodle is concerned in Klang Valley.

I chose the noodle with soup instead of Kon Loh (dry version) and I enjoyed the noodle and the generous amount of ingredients in the serving. Surely this breakfast was good enough for our morning ride and work shop at FRIM.
Just look at the amount of beef stew here...the aroma from the pot was so tempting and it really makes you hungry.
Another big pot of braised mix beef with radish .... drooling leh...
Our noodles were all set out and ready to be served. What a way to start a Sunday morning before our exercise.

Workshop on Off Road by Sam Cheong & Siang Tiek

Michael messaged me the night before for a breakfast, we were the first customers at Lee Fong Yuen Beef Noodle at Taman Desa Jaya and we had a good chat with the proprietors while waiting for our food. I have blogged this eating shop way back in 2007... see here.

What a beautiful Sunday with a group of friends attending a workshop conducted by Sam Cheong and Siang Tiek on the basic offroad cycling using folding bicycles.
The four of us who came with the same mind wearing the same tee shirts....long live Malaysian Foldies.
Session no.1 Talk on folding bikes in relation to offroad cycling by Sam and Siang Tiek. It was absolutely a good workshop which I have learnt a lot from it.
Cycling on offroad is interesting and I will to do more often with my folding bikes.
Wong had a broken chain while riding in the woods.
Fortunately Wong is well versed with such repair and well equipped to repair it. Well done Mr. Wong.
We encountered an interesting obstacle and had to carry our bicycles over the fallen tree.
All cleared and ready to proceed with the ride in such a beautiful and cool forest.
The workshop was also kind of on the road ride and learn, the things we learnt were very valuable and useful.
One of the places of interest we stopped for a rest.
A directional sign in the forest.
Siang Tiek gave a second session on D.I.Y. cooking stove made from recycle aluminium cans and other basic camping survival kits. Again I find it very interesting and would love to indulge myself in camping soon.
Thank you to Sam Cheong for his unselfishness to in part his knowledge to cyclists and hopefully he will conduct more workshops in the near future.
We completed the day outing with a lunch in Kepong at Pak Thong Restaurant.

Survey North West (Kiara /Segambut) for a Bicycle Route Map

It's survey time again for the bicycle route map project and this round was at the areas of Kiara & Segambut.
The turn out for this survey was very encouraging and it was nice to see new faces in this exercise.
We started the cycling from Desa Sri Hartamas and headed to Segambut side.
Jalan Kiara to Segambut where you can see the contrast of old dwellings and modern ones.
A change of flavour from our daily norms and a great way to de-stress in the city of Kuala Lumpur.

Concentration is essential whenever on the road.
Going up steep slope with or without gears.....
Re-grouping and a quick brief for the next course of action.
Some crossings can be tricky hence we shall always observe caution and teamwork.
Slow and steadily we pedaled up the slope.
After a strenuous climb and easy roll along Persiaran Dutamas.
A brief ride through Publika.
Bye bye Publika.
A break to exchange opinions cum a good rest.
The road that leads us to a water reservoir.
At a land higher than the surroundings for a better view of the barrier between Deda Sri Hartmas and Damansara Heights. It's so near yet so far.
Going up and down through whatever means..
We went knocking everywhere to look for openings.
It was fun riding on this half dried weeds.
Possibility 1
Possibility 2
Let's all hope that something can be materilised from here.
