We then left London to Mr. Holmes’s good hands and went over to Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur for food. I brought my family to “Kim Lian Kee” the famous fried noodles stall located just opposite Hong Leong Bank. The time was prefect, it was just after the closing of the night market and the best time to visit the food stalls. The business at Kim Lian Kee was as usual as good as ever, atmosphere was also good as you breathe in the air of a typical Chinatown. Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur has its own beautiful characteristic and a place to reckon to visit if you have not been to this place before.
We tried 3 types of noodle and the favourite among all was this “Loh Mee” everyone gave a thumb up for the “Loh Mee”. Some like it with vinegar for extra oomph & flavour.
I was particularly craving for their fried “Mee Suah” which you could hardly find it anywhere else. Somehow I am amazed as how they could cleverly fry this “mee suah” as this noodle is very brittle and easily loses it form when being fried in the wok.
The “Bak Kee Th’ng” starch coated pork meat soup was good but not the best.

I just couldn’t believe it the fried Hokkien mee was below my expectation. I expected it to be very good after watching the Jason Yeoh’s show “Ho Chiak”, Ah Chay's Hokkien Mee at Danau Kota can easily beats our friend here in Chinatown.
That was it. My responsibility as a father to feed my family cum a Sherlock Holmes night was accomplished with a 100% satisfaction.

I had the fried noodles at Seng Kee in Chinatown, which was supposed to be great.
But tragic really. the claypot lou shu fan, and roast pork mee were average at best.
wat a pity that the hokkien mee was no good..
maybe it was the cook "off day".
J2Kfm - we were actually contemplating which one to go that night, Thanks for the input.
Joe - used to be good, now 3rd generation frying maybe this could be a reason.
foodbin - hopefully so...or not time for them to re-tune...
I had once, not bad though~~
Guess it's sometime good sometime bad, consistently inconsistent.
