Wong Kok Char Chan Teng - Hong Kong Restaurant @ SS2

Once again our choice of dinner is not ours but of our little boss, he has a sudden craving for French Fried Rice of Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. That is how effective such outlet can influence the young, a taste of Hong Kong fast food.

He could smell the fried rice as we were near SS2 Petaling Jaya and reluctantly we found ourselves at one of Wong Kok outlets.

We were greeted with these on the table, place your own order on the form and the food was out in no time… Hong Kong style speedy & await no one…...

This was the cause of our present at Wong Kok CCT - French style fried rice with extra topping of Luncheon meat.

Black pepper fried udon with beef fillet – a Quality Pass endorsed by Jo.

Nissin noodle soup with fried egg & luncheon meat and topped up with a piece of fried pork chop. Just like having instant noodle at home. The pork chop was below par.

Bacon rolls with sweet and scour sauce below our expectation.


Ice honey peach passion fruit tea awaiting the owner while the filial daughter helping Dad his hot stocking milk tea in Hong Kong style.

  1. The bacon rolls looked quite appetising. When I go to all these HK themed restaurants, I always avoid ordering Nissin noodles because this dish requires no special preparation skills that makes it sound impossible for us to make our own at home. Moreover, all the toppings are deep fried and contain far too much oil.

  5. Strangely, I have always had a soft spot for Wong Kok's Xi Mut Nai Cha, as opposed to the other thousands or so "char chan teng"
