On my way to Kulim, I decided to bother a friend for a taste of Butterworth food. Bee Tin & Charlie Ong recommended this place for pork noodle or known locally as Koay Teow Th'ng. Those days when we were sick, our parent would serve us Koay Teow Th'ng which is always synonymous as food for a person who is not feeling well.
Besides eating Koay Teow Th'ng, we tried the poached pak choy veggie & poached chicken.
It was a Sunday morning the business was very good, getting a table was a bit of hassle. The lobak is slightly different with green veggie in it and it was slightly soft & moist. I would prefer it to be crispy and dry.
Husband & wife like their noodles to be served dry or kon loh style.
As a soup person I would normally request for one with more Th'ng (soup). Well, like what we shared during the breakfast the noodle lack one thing and that is .... pork lard. They used to serve with lard during the founder's time. The taste would then be different if there is lard in it.
This is the founder of this famous Koay Teow Th'ng in Butterworth, now he is just watching the business from this counter and enjoying the sight of a good & lucrative business.
A wall menu mounted for your convenience.
