Happy New Year to all my visitors of hApPy HaPpY & May 2011 be a delicious year.
There are not many delicious Prawn Noodle sold in Kuala Lumpur. Many have closed down after years of serving. Setapak’s Tan Kee Prawn Mee is one of the recent fate. What a pity. I remember KL Prawn Mee that was served with chilli powder at Jalan Lebuh Ampang in the evening of the 70’s. And such chilli powder for such prawn mee is not available anymore as far as I know. That was a magnificent chilli powder.
I was told by a Mr. Harry Chan of a good prawn mee in Kuchai Lama area. I went there with Harry one day but it was closed. Then on the first morning of 2011, I took my wife for another attempt and we were lucky to be able to eat the prawn mee. We even packed back for our boys.
It is a simple looking prawn noodle without any extra add-on and it was delicious in deed. The couple of the stall told us they open every day except Mondays. They even open during Chinese New Year and have been in business over 30 years.
The chilli paste is a must for the noodle. Some like it with more of this chilli and the operator is generous with his chilli paste. Look at the big pot of chilli paste it must be a favourite among their patrons.
If this is the kind of prawn mee you like, hesitate no more and check this place.
