A New Hainan Chicken Rice Shop in Setapak, KL

The name “CH” has been going strongly in the restaurant business at Setapak area, It started off with a restaurant at Jalan Usahawan and business has grown well and good. Here is my posting of this lovely restaurant. “CH” stands for Chong Hwa and it is specially dedicated by the owner to Chong Hwa Chinese School at Setapak. In fact the Old Boys Association is housed at the same building where the restaurant is. Recently, the owner has opened a new food outlet and this time it is a Hainan Chicken Rice shop at Megan Setapak (opposite Sri Rampai). It looks like this Owner is spending more time in the food business rather than in the property and construction business.


The business was not so encouraging when we visited the shop at 2 something in the afternoon maybe it’s still new and people is not aware of this new Hainan chicken rice shop in Setapak.

The chicken is about the same like most shops in town there is nothing really special to shout about.

Poached bean sprouts (taugeh) were palatable and it serves as a good and delicious source of veggie.

Braised pork belly and egg for the boys, they just cannot live without pork meat.

This chilli sauce with ginger and dark soya sauce is a real oomph.
It has a strong taste and goes very well with the food. I like it very much.

Normally a good chicken rice is being judged not only by the quality of chicken but also very much on the rice, chilli sauce and the soup. The rice is delicious.
