Famous Ah Chay Hokkien Mee @ Taman Danau Kota, Setapak

Previously Ah Chay used to fry his noodle at Gombak but have moved to Taman Danau Kota for quite some time. It remains a popular eating haunt and to patronize it one have to be patient to wait…… especially on weekends.
The mother of all KL Hokkien Mee is found at this particular shop and masterly prepared by Ah Chay the great Master.

The sambal and chilli for you to go with the noodles.

The ever popular Hokkien Mee (fat yellow noodle fried in dark soya sauce with lots of lard) is simply delicious beyond words. There was a moment of silence when all were too engrossed in the eating of the lovely Hokkien Mee.

Mai Fun Kau Yok (braised pork belly rice noodle) is another wonderful noodle by Ah Chay, the amount of pork provided is very generous and the taste is as good as the Hokkien Mee.
Bak Kee Th’ng (a kind of starch coated pork soup) popularized by the Hokkien community with extra vegetable was also gorgeous.

The Wan Tan Hor was not that interesting, we should have ordered his popular Loh Mee. We will do it the next time.

  3. My favourite dark so sauce noodles. Possibly they are good with Hokkien Char only.
