Pontian Wanton Noodle @ Laman Rimbunan, Jinjang

When I googled “pontian wanton noodle” there were couple of sites indicating the invasion of Pontian Wanton Noodle in Singapore but not Malaysia. Even the Best Food Blogger of the Year “I Eat . I Shot . I Post” wrote something about it too.
I check with a friend from Pontian and he doesn’t seem to know about popular Pontian Wanton Noodle. He is 50 plus and Pontian Noodle has 60 years’ history and yet he is in the blur…

Anyway, I tried the Laksa…. Well, what I can say is that the laksa lacks oomph, maybe southern taste buds differ from the north. That must be the reason.

But I enjoyed the White Fungus with red date …..
I should have tried the Wanton Noodle..., okay, maybe the next time with my Pontian bred friend, Mr. E.K. Tan

I don't know it's their franchise or what...but I do believe to drive all the way to Pontian to enjoy the Wanton Noodle. Even there's one beside my office, written "Original Pontian Wonton Noodle", but I feel lazy to taste it at all...haha!
Only trust the origin...:)

well I got to know that the noodle maker in Pontian produces only noodle for this group, the rest is marketing, strategy & marketing with the long history of the noodle maker. What do you think....?

Hi there, I read your post about Pontian wanton noodle after I tried one of the franchise restaurant at Sri Petaling (new shop-lot) just now. I'm from Pontian, Pontian wanton noodle never have franchise at any other places it belongs to their family business. About the 60 years history of noodle making which is true, Sin Chew had an interview with the family in Pontian sometimes last year. The so called Pontian wanton noodle at KL isn't the original, the taste is too much different. I had Pontian wanton noodle since i was a kid till I moved to KL. The origin of Pontian wanton noodle served with chili-tomato sauce and not dark sauce. The noodle itself wouldn't stick together and is bamboo / handmade.
