Just a Fishy Affair at Fish & Co

After loafing a while in the mall we decided to have lunch. Fish & Co caught my attention with an impression of a healthy food with something of a fish dish and the crowd very promising. Back in my mind I thought it could not be wrong to eat here. So I decided to get into the shop.

The decor is simple yet interesting with a feeling of being somewhere near to a sea.

Soup of the Day was Fish Chowder and it was nice and tasty.

Fish & Chips - The best in Town. They have other versions such as Italian, New York, Sawadee, Swiss, Malaysian and Arctic.

I enjoyed this spicy Salmon Teriyaki with 2 side dishes of coleslaw and vegetable salad. The salmon was fresh and the spicy teriyaki ready made me feel satisfied.

I will be back for more seafood especially the platter ... just couldn't wait.

Dave’s Bistro & Grill at 1 Utama for a Birthday Treat

The first time when I visited this place was with a group of cyclists and it was a late evening where we were allowed to bring our bicycles into the restaurant. Thank goodness there is ample space at the back of the restaurant. I knew if I bring my family here they will surely love it. It was Xiang's birthday and I decided to bring them there for a porky lunch.

Salmond Salad RM28 - A good and healthy start with a variety of green and a half boiled egg instead of a poached one ... yummy leh.

Roast Pork Belly Bar RM25 - With a glass of beer and it was a good kick start with this sinful but delicious "Siew Yuk".

Stuffed Button Mushroom RM24 - there is so many stuffs in the mushroom of course there is bacon in it, it's juicy and simply delicious.

Chicken Parmigiana RM58 - Xiang loves his cheesy food and this time it was something Italian...delizioso.

Roast Piglet (Half) RM118 - This western baby piglet delight is very much tastier and interesting to savour if you compare it with those in the Chinese restaurants. It was meatier and gorgeous. You should try it to believe it.

Beef Burgundy RM58 - a braised meat easy to bite and soothing to the taste buds. It could have been better with a glass of red wine instead of beer.

Nothing like a cool beer in a meaty indulgence.

Porky Lunch at Ribs @ Oasis Bandar Utama

These days competition is keen .... Tai Chow & noodles are now available at Ribs @ Oasis.

Our Ringgit is shrinking .... pricing for food has become critical in order to stay surviving. A set lunch at RM12.90 sounds reasonable and decent even chap fun could cost you about RM7.00 or more by the time you add in the drinks.

3 of us tried the 3 different version and all look the same but of different flavour. Pork Stew served with plain rice & coleslaw - RM12.90

Let's go in style but in a thrifty manner......hehehe.

An associate company invited us for a "Hoy Kong" lunch at restaurant Extra Super Tanker @ Bandar Utama.

Acar to ignite our appetite.

Malaysian acclaimed custom "Lou Sang" which it is getting popular in other parts of the world.

I like the Lou Sang at Super Tanker fresh & tasty with lesser sweet sauce.

Looks good but there are better Char Siu in town.

Roast pork was good with the cracking sensation of the crispy skin.

Lovely soy sauce fried succulent prawns that will you drool...

Green Dragon veggie stir fried and incredibly yummy.

Tofu with mini mushroom.

Yam Pork Spare Ribs in Clay Pot one of Super tanker's signature specialty.

Mark's Assam Laksa @ 1 Utama, Bandar Utama

If you are yearning for a good bowl of Laksa Assam then I would recommend you this place in 1 Utama and that is Mark’s Assam Laksa.

I have been to this place a couple of times and I am never bore with it. The Assam Laksa here is awesome, exciting and I will always come back for another bowl whenever I crave for one.

Why eating a bowl of laksa can be exciting because it comes with many interesting tastes and flavours. You taste it sweet, you taste it sour and also fishy. It’s all because of the many ingredients used in any Assam Laksa. Sour because of the tamarind (assam), the mackerel makes the dish fishy and sweetness because of the prawn paste (hei-ko). On top of that the are other gorgeous ingredients in it that makes laksa assam so delicious they are lemon grass, mint leaves, pineapple, red chillies, chilli padi, cucumber, onions, lettuce and pink ginger bud (kantan).

The location of this restaurant is kind of secluded, if not for this hunt for food I would not know of this tiny pocket of commercial shops in Bandar Utama (BU4). It is in between 1 Utama Mall and Jalan Persiaran Surian of Damansara Mutiara.

Chicken Liver Paté – the paste is moist at the outside but dry, cold & flaking in the inside. It does not paste well on the toast.

Grilled Belly Oriental Pork Ribs (RM32.90) , the BBQ smell was appetizing. Texture was better than the Baby Back even though with the unhealthy belly fat. The sauce for this Oriental ribs was not as exciting as the one below.

This is the Honey Mustard Baby Back (RM30.50) on promo. A slab of ribs which was dry and not much of meat in it. The consolation is the sauce. It was tantalizing. I hope this is not the quality it should be for this order. Nothing juicy nor tender found in this back. There were potato & mushroom tucked underneath the slab and they were good.

I would like to come back for their burger.
