Sausage and Ribs Shack, Taman Midah Cheras

Well it's my birthday my lovely wife insisted that we eat out and have a small celebration among ourselves. Thank you my dear and we were somehow at Sausage and Ribs Shack for a wonderful dinner. Please leave your shoes outside before you step in.

Sausage and Ribs Shack is popular for their home made sausages and their pork ribs. It is located somewhere at a funny corner of Taman Midah in Cheras.

It was 7.30pm and it was already crowded fortunately we have made a reservation and the table was ready for us. We forgot to bring our wine.

We have only pre-booked the spare ribs and the rest of the dishes were ordered on the spot.

Coral salad with roasted sesame dressing to start with and a good start indeed.

Since it was a dinner to celebrate my birthday, I ordered a Weihenstephen, a dark light beer to go with my porky meal. The wine we supposed to bring along would be better.

Soup of the day was Pumpkin soup with garlic bread, sweet and tasty.

Here is the BBQ Spanish pork spare ribs - full rack, it was obviously looking very enticing and everyone was waiting to mouth it as soon as the camera was kept away.

The mum did the cutting before anyone can lay their hands on it.

A plate of mixed home made sausages platter, another great dish and most of us preferred the one of the darkest colour it must be the beef sausage.

Then came the spaghetti Aglio Olio with bacon and  mushroom, we shared and like it too.

Two servings of this Portobello mushrooms were placed on the table, another yummy taste of  a well cooked mushrooms.

Our second plate of spaghetti was Aglio Olio with tiger prawns, it tasted the same as the previous one except it came with 2 prawns.

I am 58 going 59 next year, there is no stopping the figure will continue to go up and all I wish is that my body will stay healthy so that I can continue to do the things I like to do.

A Survey for Bicycle Route Map for Kuala Lumpur - Cheras 13 July '13

An event was created for a survey to assist in drafting out a bicycle route map for Kuala Lumpur and the man behind all this is Jeffery Lim. 

6.15am I rode from my house to Cheras which was about less than 10km away. Everything was still in the dark.

10minutes before 7.00am I was at this coffee shop to meet two friends for breakfast.

Eight something we started the survey with Jeff briefing us as what we will be doing.

We went through underpass at Cheras LRT station,

We cycled up bridges across highways and bye ways.

We also cycled along shady road reserves used for river maintenance.

We even rode on dirt tracks and through construction sites.

We hit dead ends and get to know the place better.

Most importantly we enjoyed what we were doing.

River can be diverted and re-aligned to suit the current development.

What we have surveyed were immediately marked and will be properly documented.

We checked for new linkages and identify from where and to where.

We visited places of our interest during the course of our work.

At times we have to carry our bicycles up high bridges to cross busy roads.

Pudu Ulu Park is one of the interesting places found in Cheras. 

Scaling on the pedestrian of a bridge linking Taman Shamelin and Taman Maluri.

Chan & Farred went looking for a short cut for home run.

And the good news was it is linkable and a good short cut.

Farred introduced to us an interesting spot where bicycle can be used to move from point A to B.

Nice graffiti seen on the wall at the river side.

The Klang River with elevated expressway on both sides of Ampang Highway.

We found an exciting escape route even though it is a mere small opening but it saved our day.....

We were in a search for a light that will give hope for good cycling in Cheras.

The total distant clocked was 50km for a day's work & ride.

Penang Char Hor Fun @ Cheras

It is difficult to find Penang Char Hor Fun in Kuala Lumpur and by accident I discovered one at Taman Segar, Cheras.

Though not 100% perfect but it has the characteristics of a Penang CHFand most importantly I like it.

Besides Char Hor Fun, the lady sells other Penang food. Let's go and give it a try. If you do know of a better Penang Char Hor Fun please do tell me where because I am a big fan of this Penang fried noodle.

A Wet Thai Food @ Cheras

Awet has a few outlets Cheras, Puchong, Kajang & Sarawak, we went for Cheras for a dinner.

White Tom Yam Seafood soup - plain but delicious and that is the way I like it.

Grilled pork neck slices were the best of the night and everyone just enjoyed it. Highly recommended if you are a great fan of meat eating.

Thai style steamed red snapper - gravy was super duper addictive, tangy but delicious.

Green Curry Chicken

Kerabu mango with crispy topping of cutlet fish.

What do you think? My family wants to go back for another round of Thai adventure and hopeful soon.

Lim Kee Pan Mee 林记板面(自制) @ Taynton View

Restoran Lim Kee is housed along this single row of many eatery shops along Jalan Dato Haji Harun and another great location for food lovers.

My choice of Pan Mee without anchovies. It would taste better with it and that is no doubt about it but again I got to control my level of uric acid.

My side order of two pieces of Sui Kow dumplings to replace the missing anchovies (ikan billis).

The Sui Kow was chunky and succulent. It was yummy with authentic taste of good stuffed ingredients.

Sambal Belacan to add extra flavour of hot, spicy and tangy taste to the noodle. I poured the whole sauce into my bowl and it was gorgeous.
