China Trip Day 1 - Let's See Xian

It's year end and everyone seems to take off for a vacation.... we went to China for a cold holiday. It was an early morning flight 12 something in the morning kind of odd to travel at this time.
The flight took 6 and the half hours to reach Beijing and another 3 hours waiting to catch a domestic flight to Xian....the food was lousy at Terminal 2 (domestic) airport of Beijing.
We checked into Bell Tower Hotel facing the famous Xian Bell Tower building and it is the centre point of Xian.
Let's see the city of Xian on a Sunday and it was eat, eat and eat at the street of Xian...so many stalls so many foods and so many people....the atmosphere was lively and the Chinese here are so fashionable...
We wasted no time and joined in the fun of savouring new taste....
This is an exciting stall selling twist potato .... nice looking food and actually tasted very good indeed.....

Everyone was enjoying eating out on the street.....

Everywhere was crowded ...the traffic, the pavement and the subway....
After a rest we came out in the evening for more sights and this time we headed to the Muslim community. Another attraction of Xian that must be visited.
Our first attempt of the evening was a beef noodle at this stall .... a strong flavoured soup delight.

Mutton satay is like at every corner .....
We were attracted by these people and were curious about their food.

Let's go in and try it out!
The business was so good and the boss was busy promoting their goodness.
Pan cake with minced meat and Chinese chives (ku chai) ... awesome!
The noodle is like pan mee in KL (pull dough) with beef and the soup is slightly sourish but gorgeous.
He is Haji Harun, speaks a few words of Malay and interestingly he is related to the former Chief Minister of Perak, Dato' Mohammad Nizar.
What an interesting day of eating adventure.... food that are we have never tried before .... and that's was our Day 1.

HaPpY BiRthday to Tan Eng Kiong & Happy Golfing @ Lembah Beringin

It's a public holiday on a Monday and I was going for golf at Lembah Beringin.....

A meal at Restoran Ah Soon for the popular steamed Tilapia fish before golf.

Curry wild boar...tender and spicy.

Choon Kim & Stir fried potato leaves.

Lembah Beringin Golf course is an interesting golf course managed by SSG and they are popular for the well maintained green. Fast & challenging.

It was a day to celebrate EK Tan's birthday. The weather was cloudy but not threatening at all in fact it was a wonderful day for golf.

The birthday boy throwing out a great drive and a birdie made by the birthday boy. What a lovely birthday gift.

Friendly opponent AS Lee
For the first time I witnessed an escalation from Jimmy, 3 pars in a row and yet he is still enjoying great subsidy from us.

Though I did not win but I enjoyed the game.

The last hole was a deciding hole, Jimmy had a good shot from the sand bunker and made it on the green. What a great finish.....JL & EK won the partnership.

Happy Deepavali Game @ SIGC (Seremban International Golf Club)

It's Deepavali Day and I was invited to play golf in Seremban. I was thrilled to play at SIGC coz it was my first time at this golf course.
Apparently it is the oldest golf course in Seremban, patronised by "Ang Moh" back in the colonial time.
An interesting Par 3 at the second hole.
There were many walking golfers playing at the second nine and really many of them during this festive day of lights.
The queue was long and patiently waiting for their turn to play.
The man whom is responsible in the development of Seremban.
We had the privilege to play with him in this small Deepavali game.
This Haji was one of the four winner, btw YDP won too.
The 3rd winner.
This left handed golfer was the 4th winner.
The youngest golfer at the age of 11 playing with the group and he is Lokman Junior.
The organiser of this mini competition, Haji Lokman was in my flight together with Haji Lal & Dato Ng.
Matured trees in an interesting layout. I like it though I blow a few holes .... and that's golf leh.
The weather was absolutely beautiful in the morning but after we finished our game and while having our lunch at the club house it started to pour. Thank goodness we played in the morning.
Happy Deepavali to all my Hindu friends and happy holiday to the rest of the world.
