Kiara Hills - Subak & Perdana Hikes with Folding Bicycles

It was a last minute plan to create this event as most of my cyclists friends have plans of their own on this particular holiday November 15, 2012. A total of eleven of us responded to this invite and took up the challenge.
There were a couple of hikes and the first one was Kiara Hills, as expected Kiara Hills will be crowded with people but it was fun. We managed this Climb No.1 satisfactorily.
After Kiara Hills they went over to Restoran Yong Len for breakfast.
The weather wasn't looking good but we proceeded as our desire to cycle was strong.
The second climb at Kg. Sg. Penchala going through the hills of the kampong was tough and we were soaking wet. Again it was fun because the rain wasn't too heavy to dampen us.
We visited an exotic restaurant, Subak for some lovely shots.
And finally the ultimate climb at Damansara Perdana, I could say it's the most difficult climb but at last we completed and were very happy over it.
Though it was painful when we were struggling to inch by inch to ascend the climb and it was worth the effort in deed.
We dropped by a friend's shop at Bandar Utama, My Bicycle Shop on our way back to our base. It was a great day with lovely cyclists and completed with full and excellent marks. We shall ride again.
The 34 km route we took to ascend 3 major climbs and we did it with our folding bicycles.

A Ride for a Penang Prawn Mee @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail, KL

As my craze is still on, I decided to cycle a bit in the morning before I get myself a nice breakfast.
One of the best Penang Prawn Noodle in Kuala Lumpur and that is at Restoran Yong Len at TTDI.
I had to go through private road and slightly difficult terrain for this bowl of noodle but it is definitely worth the effort.

See here for my previous posting of this noodle.

A Visit to boathouse @ TTDI

I have read couple of postings of boatHouse and this is my first visit to this restaurant and I quite like this place at Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
The evening after a down fall was cooling with interesting light breeze. We enjoying sitting at the balcony and watching the clear sky.

Caesar Salad - great salad indeed.
Lobster Bisque - thick & tasty.
Griddled Greek Lamb without bone was fresh, tender and juicy.
Duck Confit - a whole piece duck leg.
Battered Onion Rings - big and crispy.
Pauliner Spare ribs marinated with beer and deep fried to perfection but insufficient meat.
boatHouse's special dish Pig's balls - minced meat & ham wrapped with bacon which was crispy on the outside but tender in the inside.

Brownies - those with sweet teeth like so much.
Chef Special Dessert another fantastic dessert from boatHouse- "macaroon" ....with peanut jam & others

Restoran Chong Thoong Kee for Ipoh Hor Fun (Tun Dr Ismail KL)

Guess this is the second time I am blogging on Chong Thoong Kee I must quite like the Hor Fun here. Though it cannot be compared with those in Ipoh but I reckon it the one of the best in Kuala Lumpur.

Frankly speaking I only like the Ipoh Hor Fun here, the poached chicken with too much oyster sauce is not of my liking, the wanton skin is not thin enough, the bean sprouts is nothing really special. It is only the Ipoh Hor Fun which I will come back for it again and again as and when I crave for one.

I enjoy the soup, the smooth koay teow and the generous amount of shredded chicken & prawn which are tasty too.

Porky Fourty Two East @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Thanks to Rebecca for this great “Too Bak”'s lead, it was indeed a good evening @ 42 East.

This Crisp Bacon (RM13.00) can not be wrong if you are having a beer session like this. The crispy thin slices of fried bacon were wonderful.

Mussel Pot (RM16.00). I like this mussel soup it was delicious. The mussels were fresh and a plain soup was prefect.

We had several type of sausages these mini sausages blanketed with bacon were awesome.
Cocktail Sausage (RM14.00) with mustard. More beer please.

Hungarian Sausages (RM16.00) – a taste that was suitable for beer drinking.

Meatballs (RM12.00)

Cheese Frankfurters (RM14.00) - Be careful when you bite these sausages they can be explosive.

Farmer's sausage (RM13.00) - a bit crude but unique taste of sausage.

This was the best of the evening BBQ Pork Ribs (half slab for RM32.00)

It was a well prepared dish though it took quite a while to be served but it was worth a wait. Wonderful smell of BBQ the meat was tender and juicy. Thumb up for this awesome ribs.

Beer please and more beer please as the food was excellent.

Mama Kitchen Restaurant - A Good Noodle House

I had a good lunch in TTDi with 2 friends JoT & Ekay on the first day of the week. Mama Kitchen was packed with a good crowd that can easily substantiate its popularity and its good food.
There is nothing peculiar in the décor of the restaurant in fact it was a little bit dull and dim but nobody cares about the ambience what's important is the food here.

Kong Nam Noodle (RM8.00) – Deep fried crispy noodle showered with thick gravy of century egg, baby corns, cauliflower, green bean, chicken and cuttlefish. That’s a lot of ingredient in it. I like it.
De Signature Dish of Mama Kitchen - Loh Shi Fun (RM7.00). This portion is for 1 person. This is what you see when it is first served on the table, you see a layer of minced pork meat over the fried noodle and a raw egg at the centre like a bright moon.
After a couple of stirring you get this Lor Shi Fun which is ready to be eaten. There were tiny pieces of pork liver in it making this signature dish so naughty and delicious.

KangKung Belacan (RM7.00) it was slightly salty which could have spoiled the taste of the other good dishes if taken too much.

Fried Butter Squids (RM12.00) – a well fried dish with interesting fluffy strands and the squids were fresh and delicious.

A pot of Chinese Tea for 3 pax (RM4.50)
