I am back for a nasi lemak in Seremban, a good food choice in the morning if you ever when happened to be at this neighbourhood.

The rice grains are loose and fluffy and the sambal is not spicy but delicious, man I like this nasi lemak. I find that the portion is rather small I had myself another portion but this time with cockles (sambal kerang).

The business was as good as ever, patrons coming by to pack and take away, even though it is slightly costly but it is really good and yummy.

This is the pricing of Nasi Lemak Senyum Senyum Selalu for the time moment and enjoy the nasi lemak and stay smiling.

It is located in front of the Seremban Police Headquarter at Jalan Hj Abdul Hamid.

The other landmark is this pub where Senyum Senyum Selalu is found at the front of this premises. Go hunt it down, have a good meal and keeping on smiling.

A Bicycle Ride to Melaka During Hari Raya - Day 1

It was the second day of Hari Raya Celebration, Saturday 18 July 2015 a group of friends had a plan to visit Malacca with their small wheels. Most of us gathered at KL Sentral where we took a commuter train to Seremban.

The entire group met up at Restoran Lee Koon for fish ball noodle at Jalan Zaaba, Seremban and by 9.30am we commenced the ride.

The route to Melaka was basically on the direction to Rantau Linggi, Sg. Udang, Tanjung Kling then into Jonker Walk.

A brief stop at Mambau as the momentum slowly built up for the day.

Rantau is a small town in Negeri Sembilan. Located between the state capital Seremban and Port Dickson.
The community contains three primary schools and two secondary schools.

After 20 over kilometres Jo's rear tyre gave a burst, it seem that the outer layer of Marathon Plus was the only damage and she went on for another 10 kilometres without realising the inner tube had a small puncture. She had to hopped into the support car for the rest of the ride. Thank goodness we were supported with 2 cars in this ride.

One of the few re-grouping points, this one was at Masjid Tanah.

Certain parts of Melaka were congested with cars especially at road junctions or traffic light crossings. We could just happily over take these cars as they crawl their vehicles on the road.

Masjid Tanah is a major town in district of Alor Gajah, Malacca. The name Masjid Tanah originates from a mosque built from soil (tanah). The town has been inhibited since mid 1500 AD starting from a small village. It is one of the largest towns in Malacca. In the late 1990s, the value of real estate in Masjid Tanah was quite a boom when the government decided to build an oil refinery owned by Petronas at Sungai Udang near the town.

I could see a familiar sight at Klebang, it is Restoran Seafarer and I could also smell the heritage city of Prameswara as I soldiered on.

After a distance of 90 kilometres we reached Cheng Ho Sayang at Jonker Walk. Overall the ride was quite strenuous with lot of climbs but not too severe and the weather was good. Anyway we managed to reach safely to the historical city of Malacca.

Staying at Jonker Walk was convenient with food and entertainment all near by. That was the first day of our Melaka adventure.

Jalan Sikimat's Fish Head Noodle & Fish Balls

Back in 2007 Restoran Liong Kee has been awarded for Gold Medal for their fish head beehoon by Nanyang Siang Pau. Out of curiosity I went hunting for this place in Seremban. I was shocked to see that the shop was quiet and I thought maybe Liong Kee caters mainly for the evening crowd but I really don't know.

Anyway I ordered a bowl of fish head beehoon with some home made fish balls. The fish balls were delicious something like the Hock Chiew type of texture but without any minced meat in it and it's smaller. I like it very much.

The noodle is garnished with Chinese lettuce and instead of ham choy like a normal fish head noodle. (personally I do not like ham choy any veggie that is preserved is a no no).

The condition of the shop is not impressive at all but the noodle is good maybe I will go back there again for other Liong Kee's dishes. By the way it is located at the outskirt of Seremban near a Teacher Training College.

They sell vegetarian economy rice for during the lunch.

Restoran Sin Kee Happy 快乐成记 @ Seremban Jaya, Negeri Sembilan

You would not just walk into this restaurant by chance, it has to be (most likely) recommended by somebody who knows about Sin Kee Happy. I have been here twice and I simply love their food. To me it is a must try restaurant and I assure you that you will not regret after trying their dishes.

We started with Ying Yong Kailan green veggie fried into 2 versions which was simple, interesting and tasty.

Next came the wild boar curry it was spicy, the meat was tender and it went very well with the plain white rice.

This is the highlight of our visit a fish in hot clay pot, we wanted some other premium fish but all of them have been sold out. It was a basic grouper fish cooked with yam, pumpkin, celery, wolfberry in a clay pot making it so delicious and that is why it is their established signature dish at Sin Kee Happy Restaurant. Remember don't leave this place without eating this.

White tofu cleverly deep fried topped with minced meat and choi po (preserved vegetable) was another great dish for us.

One is not enough we had to have another fish and it was a fresh tilapia fish of another version. Both the dishes were awesome and the portion were just sufficient for 5 of us to share, nothing more and nothing less.

After the wonderful food at last but not least a complimentary dessert was served to wind up our lunch. It was definitely a great meal indeed at Sin Kee Happy that have made us happy walking out of the restaurant and we will be back for more fishes.

The location is pretty difficult to find , the shop houses are kind of run down but basically it is located somewhere behind TESCO Seremban Jaya. Have fun finding the place and enjoy the food.

Best Cendol in Seremban - Haji Shariff Seremban

The green shop at the main road of Seremban town is very prominent that you can hardly miss it as you enter into the town. Haji Shariff is famous for its cendol.

The business was very good on a Saturday afternoon and the shop was packed with patrons. I was lucky to find a table at the fringe of the shop. 

I like the Cendol, coconut milk is creamy & tasty with black syrup and smooth green cendol.

The rojak gravy has a distinguish taste of spiciness that make it difference from others.

The theme of this shop is "Green"...I just wonder why?

After a short roaming the old and inner part of Seremban, I stopped by the green house for a cool cendol and I would say it's one of the best cendol I have tried.

Teochew Porridge - Seremban Town Kedai Makanan Teo Hing

Located just a few doors away from RHB Bank, Jalan Dato Abdul Rahman, Seremban town.

The shop well is maintained with good cleanliness though the shop is old and have been in business for a long time. A good place for a decent Teochew porridge.

A typical braised egg and pork belly commonly available in all places selling Teochew Porridge.

Steamed minced meat with chopped turnip is interesting and yummy.

All these including a glass of warm barley drink for RM7.50. A satisfying lunch quick and delicious.

Seremban Lo Shi Fun 姨婆老鼠粉 at Restoran Yi Poh

Looking for food to eat in Seremban, probably you can try this place for a quick and simple meal. If you have a GPS device like Garmin you can find the direction to this place by searching for Yi Poh. It is located at Jalan Seng Mee Lee, Off Jalan Temiang of Seremban.

When we hear Lo Shi Fun we always think rat's tail shape noodle but over at Yi Poh, the noodle is long and chewy. It is served with minced meat and Char Siew. I like the taste of this unique Lo Shi Fun.

As I was alone I could only add three type of meat balls in my peppery soup, those were meat, tendon and fish balls. The soup was delicious slight hot & peppery which I like it.

The chilli paste is special and avaible for sale, it is hot and spicy. I did not know Seremban folks do like hot & spicy taste.

Just across the road is this confectionery where you could buy something back home and it's none other than Seremban Siew Pau. Hot from the oven and they are delicious.
