Let's Cycle 2 - Day 2 - Kuala Kubu Bahru - Bidor

Day 2 started with a good breakfast at a kopitiam just opposite where we stayed. I enjoyed the "kuah chap" look alike noodle.

We got a surprise visit from Baki, he showed us his Grandpa's former house which is now a kindergarden and he told us his memories in this house.

Rehman Rashid and his two young friends accompanied us from KKB to Tanjung Malim. It was nice of them to tag along and thank you!

Day 2 was all about riding all the way to Bidor and the weather was kind and beautiful.

Nothing like a refreshing natural fruit drink to quench our thirst on a hot afternoon.

The coconut water did the magic and Mak Cik's stall was an idea pit stop.

A bowl of prawn mee at Kedai Makanan Wong Chong Tai, Slim River was what I had for my lunch.

The two hosts either they were dreaming or under going a rapid charge before we resume the ride.

Chee How checking with Uncle Lim on his ride, in fact, Uncle Lim is a very strong rider and most of the time he is in front of me. My salute to him.

We visited Sungkai for our last stop, it is another 15km to Bidor and all the riders were still in good condition.

And the ride continued from Sungkai with the good weather as we moved on.

A solo cyclist riding back to Kuala Lumpur, he went up to Penang just 3 days ago and now he is going back. Bravo to this friend.

Yeah another 3km and we will be at Bidor.

I met this talented boy by the name of Faris in Bidor, he was curious what we were doing on the road and he told me he will wait and watch for this coming Let's Cycle 2 programme.

At last we reached our destination and a cold beer would be ideal for a good Day 2 ride.

The route for Day 2. A distance of 82km was achieved.

Kedai Makan Choy Kee @ Sungkai for Braised Pork Knuckle.

Our journey back to KL has to be completed with another adventurous meal and that was in a cowboy town called Sungkai. Truly a quiet town and we found Kedai Makan Choy Kee. It was 2.30pm and the shop was still packed with patrons.

Marmite fried chicken was gorgeous with nice flavour and aroma.

We came for this knuckle and it was a memorable visit @ Choy Kee for this wonderful braised pork knuckle.

The skin was in a perfect condition for excellent bites and chew. Of course the meat was cooked to perfection. Nothing was left from this plate just the bones....

Another common dish liked by customers and it was this tofu with minced meat.

A mix veggie with prawns, squids and lean meat was a good choice for a change.

Haruan fish Steamed with soy sauce was lovely, it was big and meaty slightly more than 2kg.

Deep fried soft shell crabs were also delicious...everyone was pleased with this detour and has no complaint at all coming to Sungkai in fact they loved the food.
