Koay Teow Th'ng, Food Court Air Itam, Penang

I was back to Air Itam for exactly a week and have been keeping my mum and sister accompanied during this period. My duty was to ferry my mum to the market every morning and Air Itam Market is her favourite.
For the last few days I have been having my breakfast at the stalls in the market and today I stumbled into this particular Koay Teow Th'ng stall at the food court directly opposite the market. It is one busy food stall and without any hesitation I placed an order.
As expected the waiting time was slightly longer but it was definitely worth the wait. A clear soup noodle with delicious minced pork meat, fish balls and slices of fish cakes. It was not the best Koay Teow Th'ng I have tasted but it was still yummy and would not mind coming back again.
I understand that this stall have been in business for ages and now it is operated by its second generation, the hanging yellow "Koay Teow Soup" sign may looks old but not the amended pricing on it.
The ingredients at the stall tell you that the food here is selling well, the distinct heap of minced meat caught my attention that led me to indulge in this noodle. So go and try it out at this corner in Air Itam. But remember to park your car in a proper parking lot, the other day my bowl of noodle cost me RM20.00 because of a parking summon of RM15.25....

Air Itam Market Laksa found in Klang

It was a long way from my house to this place but it's worth driving all the way to Bukit Tinggi Klang and an interesting place to try authentic Penang Street foods at Angcle Peoh.
The shop has a good story on the wall as how the Ang family started selling Assam Laksa. Air Itam Market is the origin and the laksa is well known all over place.
Ang Kok Peoh or known as Angcle Peoh left Penang Island about a year plus to start a new venture in Klang Valley together with her daughter Kar Bee. Here they are joining force for a head start for Angcle Peoh.  If you remember there was once a nice Laksa Assam found in Asia Cafe which were actually operated by Kar Bee & her hubby. Apparently the one in Genting Cafe, Island Glades (Penang) is also run by the Ang family.
Char Koay Teow fried with duck egg that always has a stronger flavour is simply Jo's favourite.
Penang Hokkien Char that went well with the sambal belacan, I guess not many people would know how to appreciate it especially those not from Penang, a taste that requires an acquisition before you really like it.
Penang Hokkien Mee or better known in Klang Valley as Prawn Mee is a must in the list as far as Penang Street Foods is concernened.
Pork Noodle with delicious clear soup for those in the mood for a plain meal, it's not spicy hot and the well prepared soup is gorgeous.
I enjoyed this Assam Laksa it's rich, strong flavour, tasted delicious and lovely assam aroma. Do try this marvel if you are an assam laksa lover.
The curry isn't as white like the one in Penang it is more of a Klang Valley curry mee, the curry looks thick and I hope I will be back to savour it soon, meanwhile you tell me.
Cendol with red beans other than ABC Ice kacang and also a variety of drinks available to please you.
