Restoran AK-47 Setiawangsa a Fabulous Hideout for a Dinner

We started with the most delicious food at AK 47 which was the satay a mix of beef and chicken meat, the satay sauce was awesome better than those from Kajang. Only 200 sticks were consumed as a starter and each for 80sen only. The satay is chunky, succulent and delicious. A must try food here if you have the chance to visit this place.
Black pepper chicken chop was a liked choice. Besides western foods there is alternate choice of a local Thai dishes which is equally good, the Tom Yam was a killer. A few could not handle the fiery hot and spicy soup well and yet they enjoyed finishing it or rather they wanted more. I find it good and delicious.
The food was served reasonably fast despite our long and confusing order list. It was fun dining in a big group like us on a timber platform and all were seated cross legged. Everyone seems to have a good time at AK-47.
The ambiance is kind of a resort and surprisingly there was no issue of any mosquito attack at this dark secluded corner. The pricing is reasonable and most importantly the food tasted good that is why it is so popular among the residents in this area.
It is a temporary timber structure, a hideout located at Jalan Taman Setiawangsa 37/56 very close to AEON Setiawangsa AU2 and next at a roundabout connecting to DUKE highway (both exit and entrance from the highway).

CNY & Thaipusam Open House @ Puncak Setiawangsa

Chinese New Year Open House together with Thaipusam celebration on the 7 February 2012.
The weather was perfect, the response was excellent and the food was magnificent.
Before the Open House we need to hang our fire crackers high up the trees and we engaged professional archers to help us.
Shaharudin's boys were good with their bow & arrows.
Shaharudin Junior showing how it is done.
Thank you Goh Teng Sir for helping us with these fire crackers.
The fire crackers were loud and noisy which was necessary for the occasion.
While the preparation was underway, I requested a "wake-up" patrol round the housing reminding the residents to come out from their houses. What a way to go with the tong tong chiang....and thanks again to Shaharudin for using his pick-up.
The Lion Dance Troupe from Sri Rampai preparing the stilts for their performance.
Everything was ready and awaiting for the VIP to arrive.
And drums & cymbals begin to arouse the atmosphere with their loud noise.
Be seated and the Lion Dance will be performing shortly.
Dato' & Datin Zulhasnan were given special attention by the beautiful lion.
I was happy that the Lion Dance performance went on well as it was my department on this CNY Open House day.
The white lion dancing on the stilts as the drum noise continued to provide the loud rhythm.

Everyone enjoyed the excitement of the noise and the performance of the lions.
Char Koay Teow was favourite among all the food either you have it wet or dry.
Another favourite was the roast lamb.
There were enough roast lamb for everyone.

It's Malaysian favourite time .... food, food & food, the spread was good and sufficient.
Let's eat and be merry.

The feeling of 1 Malaysia was immense, there were cultural dances on stage with all the various music played on air. It was such a great experience and excitement for the people of Setiawangsa.
