It's October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Time really flies. It's another year of campaigning and the whole month of October was filled with many cancer awareness campaigns. It was about the same time last year we had a similar ride in the city of Kuala Lumpur and now it's back for 2016. Well Wacoal and its organising team. See last year's event in this blog.

There were hundreds of pink riders joining hands to beat cancer in Kuala Lumpur. The participation this year looked better than last year.

We rode through the city center to increase awareness of breast cancer. Breast cancer can be prevented if detect early.

 This campaign was supported by Wacoal, Wacoal Pink Ribbon and New Straits Times. Once again congratulation for a successful effort.

Wacoal Pink Ribbon Ride 2015 Supporting the Fighters, Admiring the Survivors, Honouring the Taken and Never Ever give up Hope

The month of October is also a month known globally for breast cancer awareness beside celebrations like Oktoberfest. Back in Kuala Lumpur we had a campaign "Wacoal Pink Ribbon Fun Ride 2015" to express moral support for women with breast cancer.

Miss Malaysia World 2015 Brynn Zalina Lovett and other pretty ladies were around to participate in this event.

Pink is most commonly seen during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It was 11 October, a beautiful Sunday morning despite the haze menace in this region of South East Asia, the sky was not prefect but it has improved, thank goodness and what a blessing for the morning.

We started from the Balai Berita The New Straits Times at Bangsar and went round the city to promote this awareness to the public.

There were several stops made such as this at the iconic place, Dataran Merdeka for a refreshment.

I reckon it was about 700 riders attended this fun ride and a big thank you to the police for manning the traffic in the city and not forgetting the volunteers helping to marshal the ride.

Thank you for the collaboration between the main sponsors Wacoal Malaysia and The New Straits Times for organising this event. I think it was the third consecutive ride, well done and keep it up.

The ride took less than 2 hours to paint the city of Kuala Lumpur pink and was back to The New Straits Times at last.

The Big C – Something we hate to hear

This is a threatening word.. the big “C” and nobody like to hear it but sometime it’s unavoidable. I have relatives, friends and former colleagues who have suffered while fighting cancer, some have died and some are still surviving.

I am here to help in a way or two by publishing this posting so that I can sponsor a cancer patient one daycare for a day funding for his / her daycare usage at National Cancer Society Malaysia(NCSM).

AXA AFFIN is working in collaboration with National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to support cancer patients currently undergoing chemotherapy.

National Cancer Society Malaysia Cancer Treatment Center is located in Tung Shin Hospital, Jalan Pudu, acts as a preparatory home pre chemotherapy treatment.
