Joe Bak Kut Teh Segambut

This place has been marked by me a long time ago but I have never had the chance to visit it until lately. My colleagues finally brought me to the place, I have actually forgotten about it and thanks to my fellow colleagues.
I love this big tilapia fish head...so fresh & sweet done in a simple steam preparation that was interestingly spicy hot (a bit) which was enough to tickle your taste buds. Awesome!!!
A pot of of dry pork trotter Bah Kut Teh I like the rubbery bites of the ligament & skin....mmmmm yummy.
Fried pig fallopian tubes "Sang Cheong" with spicy hot sauce.

A simple stir fried bean sprout crunchy & delicious.
Another green veggies - stir fried lettuce.
A lunch for 5 after a meeting in the vicinity of Ipoh Road.
The restaurant is located next to this temple. Go check it out for food in Segambut or Ipoh Road.

Best Local Coffee in Town - Kedai Kopi Dan Makanan Sun Mee

I was told by a colleague that there is a coffee shop in Segambut that serves very good Hainanese coffee and must try no matter how.....and eventually I did it. This shop is just like a thorn among the roses, all the surrounding shops are spare parts shops and Sun Mee is only eatery shop along Jalan Segambut Pusat.
I was also told to try the coffee with milk as it is the best but I can't stand milk hence I took kopi-O (lesser oomph apparently) nevertheless the aroma of my kopi-O was good and the taste was equally fantastic. The green mug with a saucer on top was my half boiled eggs (to be taken 5minutes later after it has been served). RM4.20 for this breakfast.
A set of toasted bread with kaya & butter was perfectly done and so fluffy and delicious.

Restoran Xan Ling Cafe (Segambut)

We supposed to visit Lau Kau for pork rib porridge but was informed that it was closed for repair. A tree felled onto the premise. My colleague then suggested Xan Ling Cafe.
The tables and chairs are solid furniture and not like some shops with plastic foldable tables & plastic chairs. Though business was very good that day but the our food was served pretty fast.
Braised chicken feet slight spicy but yummy.
Homemade noodle soup with pork ribs and prawns, the stock was so gorgeous.
Braised Soy sauce pork was tender and delicious.
Room temperature Tee Ah Koay with sauce. I like with the soy sauce pork.
The whole slab chunk of Tee Ah Koay.
For pork rib porridge you have to call first and 45 minutes required.

Vietnamese Food @ Kah Hing Sri Sinar, Segambut

It has been a long time since I visited Kah Hing and I supposed to check out a bicycle shop at Taman Sri Sinar but let's have lunch first.
The strong and kau kau Vietnamese coffee.
New dishes are found at Restoran Kah Hing.
This is a new dish, pork chop noodle, sort of a dry version. The tasty was interesting tangy and delicious.
You can also have the pork chop with rice.
The old faithful fluffy spring roll of Kah Hing and a favourite for most people.
I always like my food soupy especially when age is catching up and it was gorgeous.
You either like it or hate it. I have learned to like this basil leaves and it tasted good with the plain soup of mine.
Stewed pork trotter and an egg was another side order for the lunch.

Chicken Rice & Steamed Soup @ Taman Kok Doh, Kuala Lumpur

I found another good chicken rice stall at Taman Kok Doh Food Court. You can not miss it pictures of chicken prominently posted on the stall.

This Hawker Centre must be old and its vicinity of Taman Kok Doh, Segambut.
Super duper hot watercress soup was fabulous and I enjoyed  it very much. Be careful drink slowly it might scald your mouth.
I wanted solely steamed chicken but it's already too late, all the steamed birds were gone but fortunately a bit of breast meat left for me with some roast pork and blanched pak choy for my lunch.
This green chilli sauce is extraordinary which went superbly well with the chicken meat.
I guess the rush hour is over both the boss and lady boss were seated and taking a breather.
I think the wall menu is indicating the various soups available at the stall which I intend to try whenever I have the chance.

Restoran Soon Lee Somewhere Hidden in Segambut Kuala Lumpur

Restoran Soon Lee has its sign board located outside near and next to BP petrol station along Jalan Segambut. There is no sign board seen at this stall. "Chap Fun" or economy rice  is sold here beside many comes for their "Tai Chow".
This deep fried fish paste with bean curd wraping was delicious it was super crispy & fluffy on the outside and bouncy soft in the inside. This is a must try dish.
La La clams in ginger rice wine soup was good, the clams were big & fresh with thick shells.
Stir fried sawi vegetable to green up the lunch.

Steam local promfret was the best of the lots, fresh and yummy. Good recommendation "Si Tau Por" by the way her name is Evon.

Fried Siew Yok was lovely, I like the popping skin it was absolutely cripsy. Don't miss this dish okay!

Bitter gourd fried with chicken was just normal with no complaint at all.

We saw our neighbouring table enjoying their fried Hokkien Mee and we just can't help ourselves but to request for a small plate from Evon. The noodle had lot of lard chips in it and it was truly sinful indeed.

Jawa Mee @ Hoi Kee Coffee Shop, Segambut (Re-visit)

Further to my recent posting of Kedai Kopi Dan Makanan Hoi Kee I have revisited the shop a few times for further sampling.

The Nasi Lemak stall was closed for a few days and re-opened on my last trip. I heard that this Nasi lemak seller owns this coffee shop hence he can afford not to open if he feels like it.
I like the Mee Jawa most it was delicious and the ingredients were generous and freshly done like the fritters, potato, tofu and cuttle fish.

The gravy is thick and awesome.

She also sells Prawn Mee & Curry Mee. I tried the Prawns Mee okay okay lah nothing like her Mee Jawa.

Lastly I tried the Pan Mee it was also lovely and the soup was tasty (probably msg on a slightly high side). The green sambal was fantastic & powerful. I don’t mind eating it again if I have ran out of choice.

Truly a good choice place for breakfast.
