The King of Exploding Beef Balls

It was somewhere in Mongkok @ Bute Street we went into a shop with the name of “Lok Yuen King of Beef Ball” Chiu Chau Noodle. Apparently they have several branches around Hong Kong. We ordered several types and it was too much to stomach but we managed to finish them off.
This famous outlet is also being promoted and listed in the Hong Kong Tourist Brochure - a 50 must try snacks.
The place was crowded with people on a Saturday evening.

All are very explosive. I accidentally hurt Jo face twice while sinking my teeth into the balls
There is even a movie about these exploding beef balls.Mongkok on a Saturday Night is always packed with people. Hong Kong such a small place, little space, little room, small corner and hardly any greenery in Mongkok area.

Wonton Noodle @ Mak Mun Kee

From Hong Kong Island we took the opportunity to cross back to Kowloon using the Ferry service. From Tsim Sha Tsui MRT station, we headed for Jordan station for Wonton Noodle Hunt........Without much difficulty we found Mak Mun Kee located at Parke Street, we sampled the followings:-
Dry wonton noodle,
Wonton Noodle wet type

The wontons are placed underneath the noodle.

Dessert the Hong Kong Way

Like they say a trip to Hong Kong is not complete without tasting their desserts and sweet soups after dinner.
Our first exploration for desserts was at Central, Hong Kong Island, we tried these at a shop called "Chung Kee Dessert" :-
Sesame seed paste.
Cold Tau fu fah with sesame seed paste ; Yin Yan look.
Rich walnut dew.
Mango with Japanese 'sago'
mango with jelly cube
to flavour with milk & mango syrup.

We also tried it here on the third night at Hui Lau Shah Healthy Dessert at Mongkok for Bird Nest & payaya sweet soup.

Black Storm in Hong Kong

The Government of Hong Kong declared the day as Black Storm. TV forecasted weather to be severe thunder storm and possibly flooding and landslide. We suppose to visit The Peak & Ocean Park but it was a big disappointment for the kids as it would be dangerous to proceed to these places. Looking for alternative destinations..
Flash floods were seen in the streets of Kowloon. Workers busy cleaning the streets & buildings.

All the way from Malaysia to witness the worst storm & flood faced by Hong Kong since the last 40 over years.
We took a train (some thing like our Malaysian KTM Commuter) from Mongkok East to East Tsim Sha Tsui. Getting our tickets for the ride….
The time was 8 something in the morning but the sky was still dark and dull. Worst of all, we could not surface from the train station and the nearby areas or shops were yet to be opened. Breakfast has to be delayed, kids starting to get restless.
Hence we decided to travel further south of Hong Kong and across underneath the sea to Hong Kong Island to Central Station. This time traveling with MTR (Mass Transit Railway), the train is much longer than the one in K.L. Everyone was hungry by then and desperately looking for food outlets. At last we got to eat at this shop Tsui Wah Restaurant at Wellington Street, Central.
