Pedas Hot Spring @ Negri Sembilan

My late dad have brought me here before to this place, Pedas Hot Spring sometimes in the 70’s but minus the wet theme park. I remember traveling in his small lorry going back to Padang Serai (Kedah) from Johor and the lorry seat was merely a wooden plank.

It seems that this hot spring is the oldest hot spring in Malaysia and has story about Japanese wounded soldiers camping there (during the Japanese Occupation) to recuperate themselves.

The children were enjoying the lazy canal @ the wet water park.

Wooh!! it’s really hot” exclaimed Xiang Yi jumping out of the natural spring water.

My mother & Aunty also took the opportunity to soak their limbs in the natural spring water for a good reason.

After nearly 2 hours in the Park, we continued our journey back home.......

Breakfast @ Tung Fang, Jalan Temenggong, Melaka

We left Everly Resort (formerly known as Riviera) and took a cruise around Melaka town hunting for a place for breakfast.

As there was another vehicle with hungry tummies following me, I have to pick and decide a place as quickly as possible.
Before I could reached a targeted place I saw a crowded place called Tung Fang along Jalan Temenggong and decided to stop for breakfast.

The fried noodle stall seems to be busy where Xiang Yi tried the Wah Tan Hoh (Cantonese Fried Koay Teow) and said "it was good and satisfying" (sorry I did not take any picture of it). My Mum walking towards the stall.

The place was really crowded & has to take a while to "jom" a place to sit...

The Chee Cheong Fun (Hong Kong style) was good.

I tried the Malaccan Curry Laksa noodle, it's different from Kuala Lumpur Laksa, looks creamy but not actually. It was a right venture, a good bowl of Malaccan Curry Laksa indeed.

The most popular stall among all was the fish ball noodle stall (by judging from the longest time to get the dish and the crowd around the stall). My mum and Aunty took this dish

This is the dry version where the rice noodle is served without the soup.

Teo Soon Loong Chan Teochew Restaurant @ Jonker Area

This is one special Teochew Restaurant found in the vicinity of Jonker Street, a popular shop with limited tables in the restaurant (about 7 tables only). The boss is Mr. Tan Tong Choon assisted by his 2 sons Seong Meng & Seow Sim, both are as “botak” (bald) as me. A shop with distinguished characteristics that stays……

The 2 sons at work where I managed to cajole them for photography.
They were such a good sport. The Teochew showing off the roasted suckling pig..

Oysters cooked with black sauce and noodle (mee). Everyone enjoyed this wonderful Oyster Noodle.
Sea cucumber cooked with braised peanuts. The sea cucumber is found to be too soft should be succulent and bouncy when bit other than that it was a good dish.

Suckling pig roasted at the kitchen (right in front of the shop). This delicacy is well cooked with no unpleasant smell but not as crispy as it should be. Try to avoid this dish if you want to walk out the place happier (expensive neh...).

The Teochew streamed Pompret (another costly dish) but delicious….

Special dumpling which I find it nothing that's special.

This is a gorgeous dish - bitter gourd with pork ribs underneath.
Something tasty and unique.

A kind of Teochew roll with lots of ingredients in it and it was done deep fried.

The boss showing us how his 0% cholesterol Or Nee should be done (no pork lard).
The healthy Or Nee was nice and yummy.
These two elderly "sons" both born in the Year of the Dragon (wish I can live that long)......

The ever popular scene of Malacca Town.....

It was a hot and sunny day - a good exercise before our Lunch @ Teo Soon Loong Chan

The daytime trading at the historical buildings if you were to notice the traders are mainly Malays whereas in the night market at Jonker Street are mainly Chinese..why?..why???
The mamak selling the famous chendol next to the Clock Tower.....

A Step towards an Eco Friendly World

From today onwards I will try to be more eco friendly towards saving the world from using non recyclable materials such as plastic bags and polystyrene boxes. I have invested these Tiffin sets for my weekends “Ta Pau” chore.
No more (or less) usage of plastic bags.
Let save the World together.
