It was time for a movie and “2012” was the movie we wanted to watch. So we went to GSC (our 1st time) @ Tropicana City. We enjoyed the movie very much. Well, you can not watch a movie with an empty stomach and somehow my son was attracted by a poster somewhere in the shopping mall.
It was Kushi Q that we were destined to have lunch there.

Kushi Q is a unique shop selling Japanese grill food in skewers.

A small & compact shop just like a typical Japanese retail space….

I wanted to try the cold udon but it’s all sold out or no stock…anyway I like the Unagi, shisamo fish, scallop and the mackerel even though in small portion but just nice for a quick lunch. I was surprised that Zuyi enjoy the rice with half boiled egg.

A Night with My Tarcian Friends

It was a night with my TAR College classmates for booze and Bak Kut Teh. It was also the eve of a Public Holiday, tomorrow is Hari Raya Haji. And it was a good time for us to unwind. We started the evening at Royal Selangor Club @ The Oval for beer & pizza.
Kok Keong, Michael Lim & Kah Yin at a relax mode and talking about the good old days at college at the Oval.

Time to pamper ourselves with Bak Kut Teh at Jinjang as Kah Yin serving Chinese tea, Tick Choong & Elaine having a good laugh…..

The Best Bihun Sup @ Jalan Dua (Off Jalan Chan Sow Lin) KL

A friend of mine KK Cheong recommended this stall at Jalan Dua (Off Jalan Chan Sow Lin) and it was truly a delicious Bihun Soup. Just look at that the joyous Indonesian lady who served me that wonderful bowl of Bihun soup. Other than Bihun Soup, there is another counter serving Soto & Nasi Lemak. Soto looks good too & popular among the customers.

At this end of Jalan Dua, you will see a Peugeot Workshop and the other end of Jalan Dua, you can find Volvo Showroom (Jalan Sg Besi).

This is the best bihun soup I have eaten since a long time ago. Plain and simple looking but it is spicy and simply delicious. I would strongly recommend this to all foodies in town. It is only RM3.50 per bowl with generous portion of poached chicken meat.

Melaka Satay Lok Lok @ Setapak, Kuala Lumpur

Setapak here we come…

This is my first experience eating Melaka satay celup but not in Melaka, I ate it in Setapak. I have read and heard a lot about this satay celup and have always wanted to try it. Here was I in Setapak with my wife and Junior for the first experience before we venture into the true one in Melaka.

The Melaka Satay Lok Lok was seemed to be patronized by mostly students of Tunku Abdul Rahman College.

The only thing good about this place is that the satays are kept in proper refrigerators and it is hygienic.

The pot of boiling peanut sauce for you to dip, cook and eat the satays at one go. It’s some kind of Penang Lok Lok, but the Malaccan one is of boiling sauce instead of boiling water. In a way smarter than Penang people.

There are a lot of varieties here but it would be lovely to have better sea foods like prawns, squids etc etc etc, we could only find processed fish balls, fish cake, crab sticks, sausages, jelly fish, cockles ……..

It’s a buffet system, eat as much as you can but no wastage, RM10.00 per 100 gram will be levied for any wastage found. Enjoy your ice cream.......

The pricing is fixed as RM16.80 per adult and RM10.80 for child including ice creams, fried rice, salad but drinks are billed separately.

Food Experience - Kuih Udang @ Alor Gajah, Melaka

Do you know that Kueh Udang is a popular delicacy in Alor Gajah, I have just learnt about it. Something like Penang Pasembur with cucuk udang served with chilli sauce instead of sweet peanut gravy.
I prefer the Penang Pasembur.

"Perniagaan Kuih Udang Alor Gajah" - is the name of this end stall, a popular stall it was packed during lunch hour.

Local carbonated drinks of mixed fruits, orange, grape & sarsi.These are the locally produced carbonated drinks which are still available in Alor Gajah. I remember I had such drinks during my childhood days in Padang Serai & Kulim. I thought it was a thing of the past.

Goreng Burung Puyuh (Fried Quail) & Goreng Ayam (Fried chicken) served with chilli sauce.

Alor Gajah Satay similar like those in Kuala Lumpur @ RM0.50 per stick. This satay is good.

Jobs too Little Contractors too Many

The response was overwhelming the registration forms were not sufficiently provided, additional forms have to be further copied and distributed. Contractors were scrambling for the forms.
