Two years back on the same road I ate at Ng Ah Sio Pork Ribs Soup Eating House, this time Siean Sin brought us to Founder Bak Kut Teh, a branch from Balestier Road. For a change I do not mind eating Singapore mild Bak Kut Teh in fact I like the pepperish clear BKT soup here. |
It looked like we would not be taking any lunch for the day. |
Founder Bak Kut Teh 发起人肉骨茶, the tender ribs that requires eating with your hand. Like I have said I enjoyed sipping this clear soup. |
Braised Pig Trotter 卤猪脚 |
Tau Kee - the soy sauce bean sheet is rather longer than ours in KL soft but not that chewy. |
Tau Pok is darkish in colour but it has more form and succulent if compared with our Kuala Lumpur type. |
Tang O Soup 茼蒿汤 |
You-tiao (Fried dough fritters) 油条 was not as good as Kuala Lumpur. |
This second outlet Founder Bak Kut Teh is managed by Mr. Chua's daughter and her grand daughter.
The legend of Founder Bak Kut Teh shall remain for a long while with the right people holding the fort at Rangoon Road. What a way to go! |
