Siew Yuk at Huang Kee Chicken Rice, Hong Seng Coffee Shop, Sec 17 PJ

The queue was long at the chicken rice stall when we arrived at Hong Seng Coffee Shop at Section 17, Petaling Jaya. The time was about 1.00pm on a Sunday afternoon and there was no sign of Siew Yuk anymore at the stall. We told ourselves we will do with only fried chicken and will be fine if the roast pork have already been sold out though we were disappointed.
Brian and Jason who were at the queue persistently negotiated with the main man for Siew Yuk. Both of them managed to get him to pull out a slab of the magical meat from the underneath the counter. Well done boys I had the chance to taste the famous roast pork. The skin really crackled and the meat was tender and delicious.
The fried chicken was equally gorgeous with crispy sheet of skin that just seems like loosely covering on the juicy meat.
The business was so good that we have to serve ourselves with the food, at the time while we were enjoying the food, the lady boss hung out a "Close" sign at the stall. That is one chicken rice stall that is so popular and it is worth the while to wait for the food. Check it out and have fun eating the Siew Yuk.

Keng Wan Hing Kopitiam 瓊萬興茶室 , Kota Kinabalu Sabah

Gaya Street on a weekday from where we were staying at Borneo Backpackers Hostel it was a short distance and we went hunting for a good breakfast.
Anslem recommended this shop for its buns & pau. They are freshly bake during peak hours and many would queue up to take away.
Some had kon loh noodles and some had fried noodle with Yong Tau Foo.
The buns and pau are popular and the place is surely crowded in the morning with mostly office workers and some cyclists hehehe.
I tried the big pau and it was yummy. Thumb up bro for a good meal at Keng Wan Hing Kopitiam. So go check it out the variety of buns they are serving you will love it.

Kopitiam at Restoran Wing Lung Taman Setapak Jaya

Setapak Jaya's shop houses look rather run down but it is lively in the morning . There is a morning street market nearby it's crowded in the market, you can see people catches buses to work, taxi drivers hanging out for their early meals and people like us looking for breakfast too. Actually there are a couple of interesting food found in this vicinity and one of them is in this Kopi Tiam called Wing Lung.
The most popular stall in this "Tiam" is the Wan Tan Mee, they have been operating since 1984 and it's still doing well with the son seemingly taking over the business from the  parent. Yes Dad needs a break liao.
As usual it takes a while to get your plate of Wan Tan Mee, it's delicious with its springy noodle and a supplement pleasure of a gorgeous pair of braised chicken legs.
The lady's Fried Koay Teow (Char Koay Teow) isn't too bad at all, in fact better than most stalls found in Setapak.
The Pan Mee is also good and tasty.
Besides Pan Mee, Chee Cheong Fun is also available from the  same stall.
Most of the time I would order this delicacy simple yet delicious and nutritious.
And not forgetting a set of toasted bread with kaya and butter
My usual Kopi "O" Kosong to start with the day. The "Kaw"-ness is just right and  I love it.
So the next time if you are in this neighbourhood in the morning and happened to be looking for food, do try this Kopi Tiam at Setapak Jaya.
