Kiara Hills - Subak & Perdana Hikes with Folding Bicycles

It was a last minute plan to create this event as most of my cyclists friends have plans of their own on this particular holiday November 15, 2012. A total of eleven of us responded to this invite and took up the challenge.
There were a couple of hikes and the first one was Kiara Hills, as expected Kiara Hills will be crowded with people but it was fun. We managed this Climb No.1 satisfactorily.
After Kiara Hills they went over to Restoran Yong Len for breakfast.
The weather wasn't looking good but we proceeded as our desire to cycle was strong.
The second climb at Kg. Sg. Penchala going through the hills of the kampong was tough and we were soaking wet. Again it was fun because the rain wasn't too heavy to dampen us.
We visited an exotic restaurant, Subak for some lovely shots.
And finally the ultimate climb at Damansara Perdana, I could say it's the most difficult climb but at last we completed and were very happy over it.
Though it was painful when we were struggling to inch by inch to ascend the climb and it was worth the effort in deed.
We dropped by a friend's shop at Bandar Utama, My Bicycle Shop on our way back to our base. It was a great day with lovely cyclists and completed with full and excellent marks. We shall ride again.
The 34 km route we took to ascend 3 major climbs and we did it with our folding bicycles.

Cycling up Kiara Hills for the First Time

Ever since I started cycling I have been looking for new routes to cycle though I have hiked up many times to Kiara Hills but I have never thought of actually cycling up. One day when I saw a friend’s posting in facebook I told myself I am going to do it this time. Alex was the one who initiated it and many thanks to Alex.
Let’s do it….. the challenge starts from the car park near BAKTI building, TTDI to the first guard house.
Here was I at the loop junction next to the second guard house. I found that this stretch was the most difficult (BAKTI to 2nd Guard House).
The scenery is great with jungle setting and away from the city pollution. It is peaceful and clean.
The mornings during the weekdays are relatively quiet, lesser activity and ideal for cyclists.
Water from the hills.
This sign shows that there are 3 lanes on the track, to and fro for walking or jogging and a bicycle lane in the middle. Obviously this sign ought to be changed.
The Government is spending money in new projects to upgrade the hills, how wonderful.
Come to Kiara Hills and we start a healthy life style.
I shall do it again even though it's tough.

Bukit Kiara Hike instead of Fuel Hike

I was happy that I managed to persuade my two sons and wife to take this hike.

Our route was from Royal Selangor Club Kiara Branch via Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club private road into Taman Tun Dr. Ismail and up we went the hill.

At the foot of the Hill @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.

Zuyi was trying his luck for soya bean drinks but unfortunately none of us got any dough for it…. I tried coercing the soya bean drinks seller for a deal of drink first pay the next time but to no avail….. ha ha ha ha.....

Taking one of the many breaks…
