Delicious Penang Fried Noodle at Bandar Menjarala, Kuala Lumpur

It is quite difficult to find a decently good Penang Char Hor Fun in Klang Valley and there is one now at Bandar Menjalara. Danny is the man and he has been frying at this here for the last 3 months. We simply love his Char Hor Fun. During the night he operates outside the closed coffee shop and he is also available in the day, so go and check it out if you are a truly CHF lovers.
Danny's Char Koay Teow is not that fantastic to me but if eaten with his sambal it is awesome. He only serves this fry during the night because there is already a stall selling CKT in the day time.
Penanag Hokkien Mee is not so popular in Kuala Lumpur but if you are craving for one then try Danny's.
The delicious Char Hor Fun added with egg as my family like it with egg. The entire family members were very satisfied with this new found gem.... & we will definitely be back.
The Penang lobak was also good though I find a bit compact and with lesser spice flavour but my meat lover sons enjoyed it.
If you need to call him to make sure he is there to serve you at Restoran Double One whether it's in the night or day time. So go and enjoy a lovely Penang fried noodles at Bandar Menjalara.

Fish Ball Noodle @ Restoran Jin Man Noodle House, Kota Kemuning 金满满茶餐店

One of the many eating outlets sprouting in Kota Kemuning, Jin Man Kota Kemuning is obviously being well received by the folks of Kota Kemuning and its surroundings. It was crowded on that Sunday morning when I first visited it. Apparently there are other branches at Mahkota Cheras, Taman Equine and Taman Taynton View.
The skin of the fish cake looks course and crispy but in the inside it's springy. I love biting and savouring this cake.
My share of a dry (Kon Loh) mixed noodle with 5 fish balls, the level of bounciness of the fish balls was not what I expected, it could have been better. Nevertheless it was tasty and satisfying on an overall scale. The fish balls are made from Ikan Parang 西刀鱼.
Here is a brief write up extracted from Jin Man "Kedai Makanan Jin Man started off as a humble stall at Pudu market back in year 1970. It was the simple and homemade fishball noodle that captures the foodies' heart and prompts them to revisit this humble stall over and over again. Since then, compliments have spread wide and far; and a second stall was setup at the back alley of Taman Mudah in year 1985, managed by the son of the owner. In year 1997, we packed up the stalls and settled into a shop lot unit at Taman Tayton View so that we and our customers can be shaded from the bad weather. Our business has been growing rapidly since and currently we have three other branches in Kota Kemuning, Seri Kembangan and Mahkota Cheras. Our business has also expanded to whole sale where we supply fishballs to food courts, night markets and restaurants. Our secret of success? Our principles in producing fishballs with 100% pure whitefin wolf-herring fish. Even during rainy seasons when this particular fish is out of supply, we would rather take a few days off our business instead of compromising the quality of our fishballs"

Restoran Hiing Fatt 兴发广式饭店) at Ara Damansara

It was a Wednesday night a group of ardent cyclists made their way to Ara Damansara for a leisure ride from Bandar Utama. Ara Damansara is one place that need to improve the street lighting it is really dim and scary. Anyway we went there in a big group and managed to find the place which require two tables for us. The food was simply awesome.
A steamed Tilapia fish plainly cooked with chopped garlic and cabai burung and yet it's yummy.
Sweet Barbecued Pork Ribs is one of their signature dishes, it was sweet and tender.
Steamed eggs with minced meat something like home cooked dish.
Salted egg fried green French beans is another common dish of Hiing Fatt.
Clay pot Tofu with mixed ingredient for a group of cycling buddies of a mix profession.
Another delicious meat dish and this time it's Guinness Stout fried chicken it had a nice flavour and tasty.

The hApPy cyclists having a good time while waiting for their food to be served. Cheers and let's go for more food hunting in Klang Valley.

Prawn Noodle at Yew Hin 友興家乡虾面, Dengkil

The few original timber shops along the main roads of Dengkil town which has slowly transformed into a modern town neighbouring Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, food business has been flourishing very well catering the office workers and also weekend visitors. Kedai Makanan Yew Hin is just two doors away from the other popular restaurant called Kedai Makanan Sinki.
So this is how it looks like for a Yew Hin Prawn Mee kind of Loh Mee version, they also serve fried prawn mee and prawn soup mee. Noodles are handmade and the gravy is really tasty and rich which was beyond my expectation. Maybe next time I will try the fried version. Be warn it's pricey, avoid it if you are on a budget meal if not you will walk out of the shop very unhappy.
Minced meat rolls which did not impress me at all probably I was on a frequency for something like a Penang Lobak.
Chilli fried fish can be seemed on most tables spicy and tasty though the fish might be over fried. I think it is best eaten with plain rice.

Surprisingly the morning crowd was good, better than its competitor, Sinki.

Fish Ball Noodles at Wah Chue, Air Panas, Setapak

2009 I posted Wah Hue's fishball noodle and the last couple of weeks I thought they were going to close down for good after a long renovation work to this wooden structure. Thank goodness they are still open.
They have now a new bule metal roof with more organised tables at the outside and with a fresh coat of paint. The food is still the same unique and lovely.
A dry version of soy sauce noodle with a variety of fish balls which some were added on. I love the tau pok stuffed with fish paste beside the sliced fried fish balls.
The man preparing the fresh Yee Wat (fish paste) for the morning serving.
This wooden shop is located near the Air Panas DBKL wet market and it is along the same side of the main road. So if you are looking for a good breakfast in Setapak and fancy some fishy balls then try Wah Chue for a change. Enjoy the fish balls....

Tantalising Thai Cuisine at Erawan Kota Damansara

I have heard of this restaurant quite sometime back but did not have the chance to visit it until lately for a welfare lunch for a colleague.
Well, we started with a royal appetiser, Lotus's Petals Snack
One of the royal's snacks with a sweet memory
of lotus's petals.  Served with a special

Something interesting and special for a chicken dish this was a Lemongrass Chicken with well roasted marinated chicken with a mixture of lemongrass.
Thai fried rice with crab meats so aromatic and tasty ...just simply gorgeous.
A bowl of seafood Tomyam clear soup that was the most exciting of all. I simply enjoyed the good taste and fragrant of it.
3 big fresh river prawns for 5 of us coated with special rich and creamy sauce that was so delicious.
Steamed Fish With Lime
Steamed sea bass with spicy and sour
Garlic and chili dressing sauce.
Stir fried crunchy Kailan vegetable with garlic and oyster sauce.
Spicy petai with prawns was so tantalising that you want rice. The petai were from Thailand big and crunchy.
