Char Siew Pao at Restoran New Paradise 新乐园酒家 Bercham, Ipoh

We have the privilege of a local boy, Jason who took the liberty to show us his home ground and where to eat good food. Thanks a lot to him we continue to know more new places for good food. Restoran New Paradise is located at the junction at Jalan Bercham and Lorong Bercham 6. Make use of the GPS coordinates provided and make your way to discover this food gem.
We were told to try the popular Char Siew Pau 叉烧包 and a must no miss food.
The inside of the awesome Char Siew Pao.
Lo Mai Kai 糯米雞 was delicious, soft and juicy with generous ingredients in it.
I love fried fish balls, my first love is Mee Bon's at Ipoh Road, KL and the balls here are also as good, in fact better than Foh San's. Thumb up to that.
It was surely a good visit to New Paradise, our Singaporean friends packed 260 frozen char siew pao. I hope the immigration did not give them any problem for bringing the pao. So do check out this interesting place whenever you are in Ipoh.

Ming Court Hong Kong Tim Sum at Ipoh 明阁香港点心

All the while we will patronise Foh San whenever we are in Ipoh but this time around we are not going to do the same. We visited the shop opposite Foh San for a change, Ming Court Tim Sum.
Apparently this place is popular among the local and pricing is reasonable. Please do not park your car illegally as compound by the Local Authority is very common, so park your car at the right space and eat peacefully.
Instead of rattan steamers, Ming Court serves with stainless steel cylindrical containers and characteristically dented, I love its identity.
We were hungry the minute the food was placed on the table it went clear in a record time especially when the Tim Sum was so delicious. We need not have to worry as the replenishment was quick and efficient, let's enjoy the food.
I noticed that as time goes by the sizes of the the Tim Sum are getting smaller and smaller, the siew mai is tiny, cute but still yummy.
Steamed bun or pau is another soft and delicious bite, what a small helping that comes with various choices like siew yoke, sang yoke, lin yung etc etc.
I love the Lo Mai Kai, the fried fish ball was good but I I prefer the one by Mee Bon Ipoh Road. It was in deed a good detour for a breakfast and something different from Kuala Lumpur. After having satisfied ourselves with the wonderful Tim Sum we headed on to Kulim. The eating adventure continues.....

Dim Sum at Restoran Pudu Cafe

It was the seventh day of Chinese New Year, Tuck Cheong was all sold out by 9.30am and the next place I could think of was Restoran Pudu Cafe at the wet market of Pudu.
Yes it still opened with plenty to eat, we managed to grab a table for three and enjoy a pot of Chinese tea with some dim sum.
Lo Mai Kai to share...
The Indonesian lady would be uttering "goreng goreng" dim sum as she moves around the shop with the food.
It was another nice old school dim sum in Kuala Lumpur and the few surviving ones in town.

Restoran Pudu Cafe might sounds western but is's an old school with mostly senior citizens in the shop.
A common sight of daily lives of seniors and how they spend their morning.
It's always packed with regulars and early birds in the wet market.
the runing bill....

Restoran Jin Xuan Hong Kong Kota Damansara 锦选香港特极点心

This is one good decent Hong Kong Dim Sum found in Kota Damansara, in fact there are other branches in Klang Valley such as PJ Old Town, Bandar Puchong Jaya, Damansara Jaya, Damansara Utama and Bandar Puchong Jaya.
The Dim Sum is good and delicious. Jin Xuan Hong Kong serves with a wide variety and all looks so tempting be it steamed Dim Sum, roasted or fried.....it's yummy in deed.
The restaurant is clean, well managed and systematic most importantly the food is awesome. As far as the pricing is concerned it is reasonable for the quality of food served.
Sui Mai is always a must for me ... though not excellent but good enough.
Har Gaw is also lovely especially eaten when it's steaming hot.
Century Egg & Pork Congee was my favourite from the lot we tried.
Fried Turnip Cake was Jo's favourite.
Deep Fried Seaseme Balls another Jo's favourite.
So the next time if you want to have a reasonably good Dim Sum you could probably try Jin Xuan Hong Kong. I bet you will not regret it.

Steamed Chicken Rice at Restoran Tuck Cheong, Pudu

It was an interesting morning pedalling from one corner to another searching and deciding what to have for breakfast. There was a lot to offer in Pudu and I fell for Tuck Cheong for a reason.
It was this that I was back to Restoran Tuck Cheong I have missed it all the time whenever I am here and this time I got it. Something different found in a dim sum shop, a steamed chicken rice with slices of mushroom and lup cheong (Chinese sausage).
It is only available on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and in limited stocks...so come early on 2, 4 or 6 to avoid any disappointment.
An awful tea pot but unique and I reckon this is one of the characteristics of Tuck Cheong.

Restoran Fortune @ Kota Damansara for Dim Sum

This restaurant is one of the longest surviving restaurants in Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara, at that time  Kota Damnasara wasn't as huge as today and yet they survive the stiff competition. Well done Restoran Fortune.
Prawn Chee Cheong Fun with green veggie.
Deep fried Foo Chok with crispy skin and bouncy in the inside. Love it.
Congee was equally delicious topped a few pieces of fried Yaw Char Koay.
Steaming chunky Siew Mai, another yummy Dim Sum of Restoran Fortune.
Fried glass seafood noodle was good with generous ingredients. I always like the fried noodles here be it Cantonese Koay Teow or Yee Mee they are all delicious indeed.
Fried carrot cake is another favourite choice of most people patronising this place.
Come and support this group of fighters for their continuous effort to provide us good food either good Dim Sum or Tai Chow cuisine. They are good. Go check it out and service is also as good.
