Beef Soup @ Restoran 3U , Taynton View, Cheras

I heard of this shop serving good and delicious beef soup at Taman Taynton View, Cheras and decided to find this place and venture into this claim.

I was puzzled by the variety of noodles and other dishes available here and all these can be seen on the wall menu.

I nearly lost my track but fortunately I got myself refocus and stick to my original plan of beef soup.

This is a bowl of mixed beef soup with tender meat, soft tripe, bouncy beef balls and the soup is the best of all. Truly you need not fear of MSG even though it is sweet and tasty. Again the magic is the soup and the soup is the answer.

It was supplemented with a bowl of dry Koay Teow (rice noodle). The Koay Teow was fine, smooth and soothing a really good Koay Teow indeed.

Kedai Ubat Yen Siew Tong, Padang Serai, Kedah

When I was a teenager I spent lesser time in my own house (an issue my late dad always complained). I spent more time here in this shop “Kedai Ubat Yen Siew Tong” since I befriended these 2 brothers Tony Lew & Micky Lew in the 70’s.

Tony Lew Hoy Siong standing next to fabric showcase of their tailoring corner.

This shop used to be a tailor shop and a Chinese Medical Hall. Now it has changed more of a convenience shop.

Kedai Ubat Yen Siew Yen has another branch in Sg. Kob and is managed by my good childhood friend Tony Lew.

This is the Hakka couple, Mr. Lew & Mrs. Lew whom I used to see them everyday during that time. I virtually eat there in the shop sometime sleep there during the weekends. They are always part of my life and I respect them very much. Mr. Lew has also tailored a few shirts and pants for me. Now he and the wife are enjoying seeing their grand children growing and multiplying.

I was able to expose myself to some Hakka culture (mostly food) and understand a bit of Hakka dialect. I learnt how to eat hygienically at this place, especially being Chinese using chopsticks to eat. This good habit that I cultivated over here is always with me.

Ninja Joe Pork Burger - Revisit

Since our last visit here some times December last Year, my sons have been pestering me to bring them again into Tropicana City for these burgers especially when we pass by this shopping mall during the weekends.

Zuyi got a movie appointment with his church friends at this mall and of course the choice for lunch was Ninja Joe and nothing else.

Business was very good when we were there. I think it is the only fast food pork burger outlet in town and it is getting popular.

4 of us took 6 burgers with all the 6 flavours. After all, the burgers are small. I prefer the original taste.

The awesome bite and the awesome Shuriken.

1-Stop Cafe @ Ipoh Road, Kuala Lumpur

1-Stop Café is obviously popular with a full crowd during this dinner hour.

The prices of the food here are reasonable and service is acceptably good & fast. This is a place that you would like to come back again for a reasonably good food.

These happy boys prefer Ah Mah's Lobak, nothing like Ah Mah's Lobak.

Noodle with brinjal & minced meat - an average taste only.

Deep fried mini Pumpkin with a crispy crust and soft & delicious pumpkin in the inside. That was my wife’s favourite.

Sweet & Sour pork Rice & 1-Stop Cafe Chicken Chop.

Crepe Couple & Tortilla magic with mince meat & superb sauce inside – everyone enjoyed this dish.

My good old Kopi-O & Jo's wonderful dessert Beancurd with pumpkin (must try).

Bloody Dragon Punch & a Summer Holiday.

Auntie Lora Kopitiam @ Taman Segar, Cheras, K.L.

I was cruising around the commercial area of Taman Segar near Leisure Mall, Cheras and saw this big and attractive sign board. That prawn attracted me most.

I could not resist the temptation of having a bowl of that Prawn Mee (as seen up on the board) and ended eating a bowl with extra braised pork ribs. It was very tasty (no severe thirstiness found after the makan),

I like the warm soup with nice prawn noodle aroma. Unfortunately the braised pork ribs were cold it would be ideal if these extra were kept warm.

These are available at Auntie Lora’s coffee shop:-

Roast Pork Noodle @ Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya

After my round of assignment at Taman Megah, I went into this coffee shop “Restoran Megah Good Luck” in search for a meal (breakfast). This shop is back to back with the famous “Fatty Crab”.

I noticed there were a number of tables with this noodle. So I decided to try one.

Roast Pork Mee in a dry version or known as “Kon Loh”. It looks simple just merely yellow noodle, bean sprouts and siew yoke (roast meat). If you fancy the taste with a mixture of curry gravy into your choice, then it is also a done deal.

The siew yoke was awesome. I like the crispy roasted skin LOL. It was a worthy adventure indeed in Taman Megah.

Carlsberg Golf Classic 2010 @ Police Club Titiwangsa

This is the third time I am featuring this particular golf event for 2008, 2009 & 2010 sponsored by Carlsberg. This year is a disastrous year for me as the score was horrendous. Let’s not talk about the score but just to record this event in my diary.

The weather started off as if it was like the British Open in St. Andrews but could not hold the cooling weather after ¾ way. It started to drizzle but there was no stoppage of the game and we managed to finish at the end.

One of the trophies of the day.

James Lai, a senior golfer and prominently the loudest golfer in KGT PDRM together with his good buddy Ghani and Shariffin. Lovely staff of Kelab Titiwangsa Golf PDRM at the registration counter.
