Foong Foong Ampang Yong Tau Foo

People from a distance away as far as Petaling Jaya would take the trouble to travel to Ampang town for a savoury of its famous Yong Tau Foo and what is so special about this YTF. My previous posting of Foong Foong can be viewed here where a group of cyclists rode there for the food..

One thing for sure these YTF are freshly prepared for you. We were there 15 minutes before 9.00am on a Sunday and was told to wait until 9.00 for the food we were served with Chinese tea while waiting for the food to be ready.

Awesome Sui Kow with super crispy fried skin with its delicious hot ingredients in the inside.

Customs started to pour in even the food wasn't ready to be served.

This guy will take your order and voice it over the mike. And when you want to pay he will voice it to the kitchen again to confirm the no. of YTF you have ordered. At the kitchen there is another microphone to respond his call. Ain't it an unique system and what a great characteristic of this restaurant.

This system has been in used over the years even before the use of wifi or PDA to communicate between your order and the kitchen.

 The amount of helpers to prepare the food is quite substantiate.

 Even young kids are seen helping out (wondering whether these kids were working part time).

Foong Foong is the most popular among the several shops in Ampang. The one next door to Foong Foong seems to be enjoying spill over business. I wonder whether there is any difference in taste between the two.

Restoran Yong Tou Foo Chan Chan @ Bandar Menjalara

Chan Chan Yong Tau Foo is a popular YTF shop in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong, do not look anymore if you are eyeing for a meal of Yong tau Foo in this locality just go to this place and try it out . Some have complained about their poor service but just be prepared and it might not happen at all and good luck.

YTF here is just an ordinary YTF with kayu manis veggie and lots of soup. At times you might lose your share of fish paste submerge underneath the depth ocean soup but fortunately a ladle is provided for you to do the search & rescue.

Just pick your choices and combination and enjoy the food.

Deep fried YTF to supplement the wet version.

Fried Foo Chok to add extra excitement into your YFT meal.

Spicy curry pork ribs is also available if you want a bit of detour from YTF but preferably taken with rice.

Claypot of ginger chicken to complete a sumptuous meal at Chan Chan Yong Tau Foo.

Sister Lam Yong tau Foo @ Serdang

This shop was previously operating near The Mines Shopping mall, Balakong now they are at Pusat  Perdagangan Seri Kembangan.

It was a detour from our riding activity at the campus of Unervisiti Putra Malaysia @ Serdang for a meal of Yong Tau Foo.

White tofu stuffed with fish paste.

Nicely marinated chicken in wrapping paper or known as " Chi Pau Kai"

I like the soup, "ABC" soup make of carrot, potatoes, tomatoes. The taste was yummy.

Poached veggie with oyster sauce.

Taupok fried with fish paste spread was crispy and tasty.

A variety of Yong Tau Foo of deep fried version.

A superb meal of Hakka Yong Tau Foo before we resume our cycling back to UPM.
