Proud Moment for Mr. Sin Boon Chang

Mr. Sin Boon Chang is the proudest man on this Sunday at University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur where his first grand son has just registered himself for a place at this university. He will be reading Electrical Engineering, well done to my second cousin. They left Segamat, Johore around 4.30a.m. to come to Kuala Lumpur for the registration at 7th College.
Boon Chang is my 4th paternal Uncle and have been waiting for this wonderful moment and definitely can not wait for the graduation day. Congratulations, Mr. Sin Boon Chang.

Royal Selangor Club AGM 27 June 2009

It is time to vote for a new President and General Committee Members for the next term. There is all kind of people in this club there are those who like to criticize the efficiency of the General Committee Members or the Presidents. These people should offer themselves to serve the club rather than always criticizing the club. And this is the best time to offer themselves to the members their qualities they have and prove to the members of the RSC that they are good and capable of running the club. The have been 2 “Coup D’etat” in this club and for twice the whole of GC members including the Presidents were removed from office. This group of club members is good in organizing any removal of office bearers as and when they feel like it.
Well, this is club politic just like any politic seen in Malaysia. If these members think so badly of the club and do not want to offer themselves to be nominated for any post in the GC line up than I would think they should sell off their memberships and stay away from RSC.
This is the first kind of people in the club and they are the deadly type. There are others but too much to talk here, just would like to come to the club enjoy the drinks and facilities. Most importantly stay away from any politic in the club. Happy clubbing.

Korean B.B.Q @ Korean Community (Ampang)

For a moment you might think that you are in Korea but actually you are in Taman Ampang Utama, the road is full of Korean sign boards and mostly the shops are Korean restaurants. I was recommended to visit this restaurant “Korean B.B.Q” as seen here located at the second block of the left row as you travel into the road. The restaurant is just next to a mamak shop.
This bottle of Soju @ RM16.00 and apparently this wine “Chum Churum” is quite popular in Korea and it is served cold.
The setup of the Korean B.B.Q. dinner...... Lots of green lettuce, cut garlic, cut green chillies, kimchi and soup. All these are free. If you are a garlic lover you must then try this Korean wonder.
This is the marinated pork meat & ribs (Deisy Khalvi @RM22.00 per portion), once barbequed it tastes fabulous especially with the cold soju…
And the basic pork belly (Sam Gayp Sal) RM17.00 per portion.
This place not only serves B.B.Q. it also sells Korean pork, beef and mutton. The reason I was recommended to this place is because the pricing is reasonable and food is good.

Kedai Kopi Ping Wah - Home Cooked Food @ Paramount

I used to help to serve foods & drinks at this coffee shop during the mid 80’s when I was courting Jo (operator’s daughter), now my wife. This shop in Paramount Garden can be considered one of the oldest lasting coffee shops in the area. Ping Wah started off sometimes 36 years back as a typical Chinese coffee shop then slowly selling “Chap Fun” economy rice to mostly students of F.I.T (Federal Institute of Technology) and finally went full swing on home cooked foods business. Their business has been kind and good over the years but now there are so many competitors and business is tough.

Today I am back for lunch with my buddies. Steamed Village chicken, the new operator (Mr.Hoo) went all the way to Mentakab to buy this chicken. This Hainanese loves to market & cook.

Signature dish of Ping Wah, "Ho Lan Shi Chee Yoke" sliced fried potato with pork meat (the original version is with more gravy).

Stir fried Veggies…
Another signature dish of Ping Wah is the deep fried fish “Mah Yeaw Yee” with flagrant ginger & soya sauce.

Kedai Makanan Yut Kee, Campbell Street, Kuala Lumpur

It was a late Sunday lunch where I brought my family to Yut Kee Coffee shop again for a Hainanese treat and the time was around 2.15pm. As usual the shop was packed with people but we were fortunate to get a table. The food was served very quickly, no complaint at all everyone was hungry.

A happy family enjoying good food that worries the father....

Yut Kee's hot selling cake, Swiss Roll RM8.00 per roll (used to be selling at RM7.00 the last time I blogged on 30 September 2007)

Yut Kee paper box for take away food......

Hainanese Chicken Chop a popular dish here in Yut Kee….

Xiang Yi ordered a boring choice, fried rice……

A bowl of stewed beef soup for everyone to try.

One of the best Hainanese cuisines, a Pork Chop with their delicious Hainanese sauce.

My choice of the day, a Hokkien Fried Mee with Yut Kee’s gorgeous sambal belacan & a squeeze of lime. Lovely... right.

Xiang Yi’s stomach is still not satisfied so a additional plate of Cantonese Fried noodle, every one of us has a hand on it, hahahaha…

Everyone was happy with the meal and has to leave for KLCC for the next activity (movie time).

Tsun Jin High School – Latest on Extension Work

It was during the school holidays that we were able to reinstate the road premix of the school. To me, Tsun Jin High School has no holiday, there will be always school activities even during the school holidays. We were fortunate that the Headmaster assisted us by issuing a Notice to stop all vehicles entering the school compound on 9 of June so that we can carry out the road reinstatement work smoothly.
The Multi Purpose Hall with flooring and wall paneling at work. Note - the plaster ceiling has completed.

The corridor of the gallery @ upper floor of the Multi Purpose Hall finished with ceramic tiles.

Ceiling work in progress at the Auditorium.
Meanwhile, the School has taken over further car park space for their usage.
