A Shack that Sells Awesome Noodles at Setapak, Kuala Lumpur

This shack is located along Jalan Perusahaan Ringan that sells tasty noodles with different type of noodles on different days and it's a crowd puller. Business only from 9.30 in the morning and closes on weekends.
I like this Lor Pan Mee and I like to add a strong dose of sambal chili into it which turned out to be so magnificent .... lau nua lioa .... By the way it only available on Friday.
Prawn Mee is available on Thursday, it's not to my liking and I would opt for the other option and that is the Dry Curry Chicken Noodle.
Assam Laksa to start off a fresh week and that is if you fancy it on a Monday. It is not that sour as you might think, I find it nice and tasty for a Monday morning. And I don't actually mind it breakfast which is absolutely a rare thing to do.
Dry Curry Chicken noodle on a Thursday and that is what I like for Thursday as far as this stall is concerned.
The ingredients for a dry noodle and you can find this everyday on the menu. Simple yet yummy.
The Kon Loh (dry) Koay Teow (rice noodle) that is served with the above soup with tau pok, fish balls and meat ball. And the dry noodle is topped with fried shallot and delicious minced meat.
The menu up in the shack for you to take note of the different noodles available on the various day of the week.
Nothing like a nice and sweet dessert of ginko, barley and bean curd sheet.

Just a Fishy Affair at Fish & Co

After loafing a while in the mall we decided to have lunch. Fish & Co caught my attention with an impression of a healthy food with something of a fish dish and the crowd very promising. Back in my mind I thought it could not be wrong to eat here. So I decided to get into the shop.
The decor is simple yet interesting with a feeling of being somewhere near to a sea.
Soup of the Day was Fish Chowder and it was nice and tasty.
Fish & Chips - The best in Town. They have other versions such as Italian, New York, Sawadee, Swiss, Malaysian and Arctic.
I enjoyed this spicy Salmon Teriyaki with 2 side dishes of coleslaw and vegetable salad. The salmon was fresh and the spicy teriyaki ready made me feel satisfied.
I will be back for more seafood especially the platter ... just couldn't wait.
Your cutlery at your own service.
It's a nice and pleasant ambiance for a seafood affair.

Canton Kitchen at Sri Rampai Business Centre 老招牌

I have posted this eatery joint sometime in 2010 and the business is still as good as before or maybe better. It is always crowded during the weekends and public holidays. One of my previous postings of Canton Kitchen, Sri Rampai can be viewed here.
Though it was crowded to the brim but our foods came pretty fast and we were impressed with it.
One thing for sure I can not miss is  this dish, my sons simply love it, bean curd with minced pork and long beans topping.
Simple stir fried water cress a fresh vegetable, produced in their place of origin at Bukit Tinggi, Pahang,
The amount of Honey pork ribs was just enough to distribute among us.
Assam sotong and prawns to spice up the meal.
Guang Xi stuffed Tau Pok with minced meat which comes in a soup form is my favourite.
The restaurant was founded in 1988 and is one of the earliest restaurants in Bukit Tinggi.
The founder is Loo Yin Chen together his brothers they started with a concept of homely restaurant and today they have spread their wings to Klang Valley in Setapak & Selayang from Bukit Tinggi.

Another Spicy Chicken Thrill at Nando's

The Nando’s cockerel landed on the tropical land of Malaysia in 1998 and the first outlet was in Bangsar.
A quarter chicken with 2 regular side order, I picked corn and grilled vegetable. So it's another round of succulent flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken with Afro-Portuguese inspired side dishes.
PERi-PERi is at the heart and soul of Nando’s. It’s the secret ingredient behind the restaurants and it’s awesome if you like hot and spicy taste.
Let's spice up our lives.
I like it hot, the hotter the better. Cheers! There are more than 50 outlets in Malaysia ... go and spice it up!

Xan Ling at Sri Sinar, Kuala Lumpur

This is Xan Ling at Sri Sinar, a branch outlet from the main at Segambut / Jalan Kucing. Apparently this little corner has been here for more than a year and it is conducive with the comfort of air conditioning as compared to the one at Segambut.
Dishes are about the same as their main branch and we were there for a pre-ordered pork ribs porridge which requires a minimum of half and hour pre-order. So remember to call before you visit this place for this porridge.
Soya sauce pork belly to intensify our meaty and sinful lunch.
Deep fried Kampong fishes with the porridge was an excellent combination.
So was the stir fried purple colour cabbage that went very well with our porridge.
Some interesting choices of drink in the menu.
Call Mr. Tan Song Huat for dishes that require time to prepare like the pork rib porridge.
Xan Ling is a family business, the one at Segambut runs by the mother and daughter team whereas the father take care of Sri Sinar.

Kopitiam at Restoran Wing Lung Taman Setapak Jaya

Setapak Jaya's shop houses look rather run down but it is lively in the morning . There is a morning street market nearby it's crowded in the market, you can see people catches buses to work, taxi drivers hanging out for their early meals and people like us looking for breakfast too. Actually there are a couple of interesting food found in this vicinity and one of them is in this Kopi Tiam called Wing Lung.
The most popular stall in this "Tiam" is the Wan Tan Mee, they have been operating since 1984 and it's still doing well with the son seemingly taking over the business from the  parent. Yes Dad needs a break liao.
As usual it takes a while to get your plate of Wan Tan Mee, it's delicious with its springy noodle and a supplement pleasure of a gorgeous pair of braised chicken legs.
The lady's Fried Koay Teow (Char Koay Teow) isn't too bad at all, in fact better than most stalls found in Setapak.
The Pan Mee is also good and tasty.
Besides Pan Mee, Chee Cheong Fun is also available from the  same stall.
Most of the time I would order this delicacy simple yet delicious and nutritious.
And not forgetting a set of toasted bread with kaya and butter
My usual Kopi "O" Kosong to start with the day. The "Kaw"-ness is just right and  I love it.
So the next time if you are in this neighbourhood in the morning and happened to be looking for food, do try this Kopi Tiam at Setapak Jaya.

A Dinner at Restoran Ba Xian Vegetarian Court 八仙报喜素食阁

I have been to this building many times for Ah Mui's lunches but never have I tried Ba Xian's food. It is located at Persiaran Mergatua, Kepong Baru.
I like this curry fish, spicy, yummy and I could see the fish meat in the curry..... now I am drooling.
This is what I call an authentic green dish... my favourite sambal petai so is Larry's.
Kangkung belacan among the many great dishes on the table for us to savour.
As a soup lover, I can say this seaweed soup was excellent ....more please.
Curry mutton with potato which turned out to be so delicious and I like its closeness to meat texture. So nice to chew and no fear of cholesterol. Happy eating.
Fried Beehon was so good that another plate was requested. Some had brown rice with all these lovely non meat dishes.
Crispy yam basket with kung pao veggie ingredients was not only nice in the presentation but it was equally nice in its taste.
A plate of gorgeous deep fried mushroom, how nice if I could have a glass of beer to go with it. And how come they do not serve beer in such restaurant.
This is one of the best vegetarian "Char Siew" I have ever tasted ... it smelled good and what a delicious fake Char Siew.
A group of cycling buddies taking care of a truly vegetarian friend from Penang and he loves the food at Ba Xian.
Another good place for a good vegetarian meal.
