Palembang Day 5 - A day to rest but not the gorgeous meals

I was not feeling well on Day 5 with a bad tummy. The haze has started to gloom the sky and I braved myself to cycle to a breakfast appointment with Datu, a local friend of Andrew.
After a train ride from Demang to Cinde Station we took a short ride to Kopitiam Rajawali and hoping that my tummy will be stable for the entire breakfast time.
Here we were at the kopitian shop front we were early and let's have a cup of kopi 'O' while waiting for our friends to come.
Datu was celebrating his 24th marriage anniversary with a nice cake arranged by Datu's daughter.
Happy Anniversary to Mr. & Mrs. Datu may your marriage be blessed with love, joy, and companionship for all the years of your lives. Together with them was their eldest daughter who have just completed her study in Lim Kok Wing University.
Thank you so much Datu for the lovely breakfast. The choices of food in Kopitiam Rajawali are rather interesting with a variety to choose. I like my kopi "O" kosong, the toasted bread, half boiled eggs and also the dim sum.
I chose not to continue the day ride with Andrew & wife and took a train back for a rest.
Later in the evening Hendri and Lili came with two cars to fetch us from OYO 322 to River Side Restaurant. Hokkien say "paiseh" for their superb hospitality.
An interesting floating structure of River Side Restaurant with 3 levels to dine.
Belida fish is a household name in Palembang, it used to be available in abundance in Musi River but due its high demand and popularity in its local delicacy consumption it has become scarce. The supply  of belida fish has to be imported from elsewhere.
Belida has now popular as an ornamental pet kept in a nice aquarium for display, Palembang has recently erected a monument at Benteng Kuto Besak to honour the existence and importance of Belida fish in Palembang.
The lady section of the dinner group, River Side Restaurant is strategically located at Benteng Kuto Besak with a gorgeous view over looking Musi River and Ampera Bridge.
The entire group who came for the dinner together with the main host Mr.Hendri a.k.a Ah Hock & wife. Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner and I salute your awesome hospitality. Bintang beer was good and we hope to see you again, maybe in Kuala Lumpur.
The fried fish with spicy sweet topping was good and delicious.
A local cuisine, pindang fish was kind of like a tomyam experience with patin fish in it. I love the pindang soup, spicy sweet and enticing.... yummy yummy.
Day 5 for me was rather quiet in between breakfast and dinner but I was glad that I was able to attended both the invitations despite my unstable tummy. I was looking forward cycling for Day 6. Good night and let's hope for a good Day 6.
