Langkawi ( Day 2 ) Island Hopping

Our second day in Langkawi was Island Hopping in the morning from 9.30a.m. to 1.30p.m. We were transported to a jetty nearby Awana Porto Malai (actually Porto Malai has its own jetty and we could have boarded from here if we were have arranged with the hotel, a lesson learned).

Langkawi ( Day 2 ) - Lunch

After the exciting islands hopping, we went to Pantai Cenang for lunch. There are so many restaurants along this road at Pantai Cenang. It is another version of "Batu Feringgi", especially during the night time.This restaurant (Orkid Ria) is a popular place in this area, the service is pretty good and a clean place. There is a photograph of Dr. Mahathir with somebody hanging up on the wall.

Sweet and sour chicken is an all time favourite of Zu Yi. Replacement of "Koh Loh Yoke".
We were recommended by the Captain to try their Curry Chicken.

Langkawi Here We Come (Day 1)

Boarding Everyone can fly to Langkawi.
The Eagle has landed.
The rented car for the trip.
First place we visited was the Mahsuri Tomb.
Lunch at Kuah Town. There are several Chinese coffee shops selling hawker foods.
Before checking into the hotel, Zu Yi had a first feel of Pantai Cenang.

Underwater World; if you have been to Aquaria KLCC, you can skip this place.

Oriental Village, a colourful place where you get to ride the cable car.
Langkawi Cable Car is a MUST. Real breathtaking.
Dinner at Kuah Town facing Bella Vista. This stall is a halal outlet of Chinese Thai cooking. Food is good and pricing is very reasonable.
I love the beer, real cheap lah less than RM2.00 per can.

Kulim Friends @ Singapore

Another photograph for the album, yes, it is definitely good to see images of old friends. As most of us are slowly creeping into the half century zone (some have already entered that time zone) we have to reconcile our networking and enjoy our lives to the fullest.

Bak Kut Teh @ Subang Village New Village

By coincidence, I ended up having Bah Kut Teh at Subang New Village with another 3 friends where we were supposed to have lunch at Subang Bestari. The shop we wanted to visit has closed down, we went hunting for alternative and found this place.

Restaurant Bak Kut Teh Chong Fue serves good and reasonable cheap foods.

We had a pot of pepper soup with chicken and pig stomach,

a basic clay pot of Bah Kut Teh with tow pok,

and this interesting pot of Talapia fish cooked with a lot of finely shredded ginger.

The crowd gets bigger as it approches the lunch hour. Most of the dishes are served using clay pots, including noodles.

Typical Home Foods by Mum

Stir fried Bean Sprouts. Mum always take the trouble to remove the roots and husks from each and every of the bean sprouts.



Assam prawns.



Glass noodle soup with fish balls and vegetable choy sam.



This bowl of mixed veg (chai boay) with roasted pork is contributed by our friendly neighbour.



And lastly some fruits.

Restaurant Jeffery's @ Peel Road, Kuala Lumpur

A group of 5 of us visited Restaurant Jeffery’s at Queen’s Bay, Peel Road for lunch.

We were served with a starter a bowl of bitter gourd chicken soup (F.O.C).
Fried kambong fish with "Ulam" & "sambal belacan" .

A plate of “Ulam” comprising of fried brinjal, cucumber, lady finger and angle bean.

Stir fried "Choy Sam".

Roasted pork "Siew Yoke" and "Char Siew" . "Siew Yoke" was lovely, we added another plate of "Siew Yoke".
Fresh Tofu with "Chinese sausage "Lup Cheong" & roasted intestinal sausage on top.

Clay pot stewed beef tendons "gao kan".
