Bukit Kiara Hike instead of Fuel Hike

I was happy that I managed to persuade my two sons and wife to take this hike.

Our route was from Royal Selangor Club Kiara Branch via Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club private road into Taman Tun Dr. Ismail and up we went the hill.

At the foot of the Hill @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.

Zuyi was trying his luck for soya bean drinks but unfortunately none of us got any dough for it…. I tried coercing the soya bean drinks seller for a deal of drink first pay the next time but to no avail….. ha ha ha ha.....

Siu Siu Restaurant

This restaurant is neatly tucked in a green corner between the Federal Highway and the Sungai Besi Chinese Cemetery. Just about 300m off the Federal Highway from the Kuen Cheng School exit into Seputeh area.
Their specialties are the claypot rice with crab or with beehoon noodle.
Siu Siu has another branch at the old Sungai Besi Airport (somewhere at the end of the runway)…

We started off with a bowl of black fungus soup.

Char Kuay Teow - Lorong Selamat, Penang

RM8.00 a plate of Char Kuay Teow found in Lorong Selamat, Penang, fried by the one and only super fierce lady. From operating in a stall at a nearby coffee shop, she has now has her own coffee shop to serve her patrons. A must if you come to Penang for food.

Only RM25+ per head and you get to try Kelantanese BBQ & Steamboat.
A combination of steamboat and BBQ.

After the meal, you will also smell like BBQ and I bet you will go straight for shower when you reach your home.
I guess such an eatery place should not be enclosed or air conditioned, if required be to be air conditioned, it should then be properly ventilated if not you will in a stinko state.

Business here is good despite lousy economic situation.

Li Man Jia Seafood Restaurant

After a round of happy hour with my old colleagues Yuen Leong, Eng Kiong and Roger Foo whom now I am involved with them on a Chinese Independent School project in town (Loke Yew Road), we adjourned to a eating place called Li Man Jia Seafood Restaurant. It is located along Jalan Tun Razak nearby Titiwangsa LRT Station.
Good foods and reasonable pricing. Stir fried baby cabbage.
Poached kampong chicken.
Fish fillet fried with ginger.
Assam prawns.
Fried BeeHoon noodle with lovely Kow Yoke (stewed pork belly)

Breakfast at Sri hartamas Food Stall

I visited one of my regular Malay food stall at Sri Hartamas for breakfast. It is located at Jalan Sri Hartamas 1, just next to the Sprint Highway Traffic Light and the place is elevated. This stall is the second last stall nearest to the said traffic light.
I like it at this time because the food is freshly cooked, I took a plate of steamy warm rice with curry kembong fish, an egg and stir fried taugeh. And a warm lime juice drinks. All for RM5.00 only…….

Kg. Desa Aman - Steamed Tilapia

Restoran Ah Soon has been upgraded since the last time I tasted their foods way back 5 years ago. They have shifted 8 doors away with bigger space and more conducive atmosphere as compared to previously. In fact they were operating in the old place without any name.
Their specialty is the steamed tilapia fish in a baking tray. Now the tray is made of stainless steel where previously was of aluminum type.
"Yeaw Cha Kuai" goes very well with the gravy. This time around the gravy is found to be too sweet……. remember it was not like that before.
Another good and tasty curry wild boar meat.
A simple stir fried vegetable.

All for RM50nett nett including a pot of Chinese tea.

Location : along Jalan DA/1, Kg. Desa Aman (literally translated into the local dialect means “Taiping Garden”) next to a Chinese Temple.

Opens only from Monday to Saturday for Lunch ONLY.
