Super Hot Ayam Penyet Ria @ Wangsa Walk

I have to change our eating out habit with my family not always the usual Chinese "Tai Chow" so I took them to this place at Wangsa Walk "Ayam Penyet Ria". There is a few different operators for this Indonesian food and not all are as good like this one. The sambal is something to remember here it's super duper hot....

A simple decor but conducive and nice.

This is the signature dish  Ayam Penyet crisply fried and juicy & tender in the inside, of course the sambal is a challenge. Thumb up!!!! 

Ayam Bakar (BBQ Chicken) probably healthier with lesser oil.

Beautifully deep fried golden prawns, so crispy that I would chew the whole entire prawn and it's marvelous....I like it. How nice if I would eat it with a glass of beer, I bet they will pair very well.

Smashed fried beef was a tough affair maybe it requires to acquire a liking to handle this tough meat. Palatable especially with the powerful sambal. 

The Satay is different from our Malaysian Satay, the meat was tender and succulent . The gravy though oily but very enticing with chopped chilli padi besides the onions. I would love to try it again.

Duck Mee @ Chia yean Bukit Beruang, Melaka

How wonderful these days with the help of internet on our small and medium screen devices we were able to find a good place for breakfast. We found this coffee shop at Bukit Beruang, Melaka called Chia Yean.

Based on our findings this stall was recommended so we tried......something  breakfast from the norm and very interesting indeed.

The Duck Mee with lot of chilli sauce added by myself and the taste was yummy.

I ordered a side order of a braised duck drum stick and an egg. What a wonderful breakfast in Melaka. I noticed that there is a chicken rice and I want to try it next time and the chicken looks good, the rice comes with de-boned chicken meat just like the Thai does it.

There is a food court near by this place.

A Ride to Celebrate City Day

I was informed of this event via facebook and I registered for it. There was no need of paying any fee and on top of that you get a free tee shirt and food, how wonderful.

After the registration at the Stadium Badminton Cheras a few of us went opposite the road for breakfast.

This bowl of curry noodle was excellent with rich creamy curry and  the taste was excellent, this stall is housed in a corner coffee shop beneath an office of Democratic Action Party.

It was nice to meet Elaine Wong again, as usual she was busy taking care of the event.

Gus Ghani, a new friend whom I met at this event he is such a friendly chap. Next to him is Michelle Sit and both looking good indeed.

The friends from I love cycling 365 Days, great loving bunch of people .... they really love cycling and keep it up.

David & Ben both eagerly waiting for the ride to start as we mingled around chatting with friends in the cycling network.

All ready for the flag off and I know quite a number of registered riders did not turn up due to some mis-communication with the organiser. They took matter too serious, relax my friends..... I just want to cycle, talk less and enjoy the ride. Riding has given me good exercise and I wish to amintain it as long as possible.

There were a couple of long stops and it was affecting the rhythm of the our ride.

By the way this event was organised in conjunction with the City Day Celebration.

I like such events, the colour, the fun riding on major monitored and controlled by Traffic Police & Marshals and mostly important the smiling faces of all various races. Malaysia is such a lovely country.

Wow! And a surprise, we were directed into the Football Stadium with thousands of people in it, so colourful and lively. And you know what the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the wife & Ministers were at the VIP stand.

It was something like a fish trap, "kelong fish trap" and only then I realised why we were kept to wait again and again. The organiser managed to contain and lead this school of fishes into the stadium timely. It was an experience though but it would have been better if we were informed of such intention. That was without any doubt a good catch.

This route covered only 26km starting from Badminton Stadium and finishing at Football Stadium both in the vicinity of Cheras, located at the southern part of Kuala Lumpur. The road condition wasn't too good with lots of pot holes / uneven surfaces, in fact I have witnessed several falls during the ride. All in all it was still a good celebration for City Day.

Chinese New Year is Approaching and it's Eat, Eat & Eat

My first Yee Sang @ Tuck Kee, Bukit Maluri and more to come which might be scary if there are too many.. The first was good but I do not know about the coming ones.

This is the only time restaurants would capitalise on this tradition in Malaysia.....and as we Lou Sang and the more we do it the more happier will be the restaurant operators.

Prawn fritters were succulent and delicious, I like this dish though the presentation was not really enticing.

Loong Tan giant grouper cooked in a soup was a good recommendation by Ah Tuck. The fish meat was yummy.

Stir fried Kai Lan nothing special in fact slightly over fried.

Braised fish maws with mushroom and broccoli was a good choice and another delicious fry by Tuck Kee. 

Kampong chicken well poached with meat that was tender and juicy, thumb up.

Glutinous rice with persevered meats was a bit disappointment to me, I would love the rice grains to be grainy.

Eight golfers enjoying good food and whisky after a show down at a golf course to determine who will be the four injured players to foot the bill. Thanks to the four of them, I enjoyed the dinner very much.

Big roast pig for a big group of golfers, we were fortunate to sample this roasted meat and thanks to their generosity.

Steamed Fish @ Serdang Lama

Chong Siew Lam Restaurant tucked in an isolated old town of Serdang Lama. Thanks to the new developments surrounding these place that has made the accessibility a bit complicated. Behind the eatery house is a Chinese school. Jalan Besar is the name of the road in front of it.

This place is popular, bringing lives and congestion into the neighbourhood during lunch time.

The best time to visit this place is before noon or after 2pm where crowd is lesser in order to ensure a table in the air-cond space, if not you would probably be eating outside and on a hot day could be uncomfortable. There another choice is to call & book a table if you are going during the peak hour.

The signature dish & must try - steamed fish either fish head or tilapia, the greenish stuff is minced ginger & parsley and the taste is magnificient.

Vinegar braised pork trotter with tender meat and excellent taste.

Fried Fuk Chok with crispy surfaces but soft fish paste in the inside. Interesting stuffed with small pieces of chopped century eggs.

Bitter gourd stir fried with eggs and finely strips of carrot.
