Restoran Loong Kee Bak Kut Teh 龍記瓦煲肉骨茶

Loong Kee previously operates at Jalan Welfare, Sungai Buloh New Village, now he has moved to a new place with a new business dimension. I am sure his regular customers would continue to patronise his food. All the best to Loong Kee Bak Kut Teh.
This is a typical KL Bak Kut Teh with a good typical good taste. The soup is not too plain nor too thick like coffee and yet the taste and aroma is strong enough and satisfying.
To me this industrial park where the shop is located is more "Kota Damansara" than "Sungai Buloh" as it's closer to Kota Damansara. Sungai Buloh Industrial Park has been a favourite eating paradise with several makan outlets specially for breakfast & lunch. If you are looking for food to eat in this area then this Bak Kut Teh might be a good choice.

The Big C – Something we hate to hear

This is a threatening word.. the big “C” and nobody like to hear it but sometime it’s unavoidable. I have relatives, friends and former colleagues who have suffered while fighting cancer, some have died and some are still surviving.

I am here to help in a way or two by publishing this posting so that I can sponsor a cancer patient one daycare for a day funding for his / her daycare usage at National Cancer Society Malaysia(NCSM).
AXA AFFIN is working in collaboration with National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to support cancer patients currently undergoing chemotherapy.

National Cancer Society Malaysia Cancer Treatment Center is located in Tung Shin Hospital, Jalan Pudu, acts as a preparatory home pre chemotherapy treatment.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in this cancer awareness campaign they could check the 110 Cancer Care at this website https://www.110cancercare.com/

Hong Bee Bak Kut Teh Jalan Ipoh

Bak Kut Teh from 5pm onwards --- a respectable place for a good dinner somewhere in Ipoh Road.
We came to the place in a troupe for a farewell celebration.
A big clay pot of Sang Kut was pre oredered and it was the highlight of the meal. I like plain soup and the nice herbs aroma.
I enjoy it with lots of parsley ....
The basic Bak Kut Teh at the severy counter.
Sinful thinly sliced "Ka Wan" meat .... mmmmm so good leh.
Braised chicken feet - smooth and easy to eat mostly importantly it's yummy. Unfortunately my shot of braised tendon did not turn out to be good but that was delicious too.
Another unholy pot of spare parts made up of intestine and stomach. I am avoiding it (if I can) because I had to watch out on my uric acid level.....hehehe.
the mess we created at the dining table and the guys surely enjoyed the meal. Everyone of us gave a thumb up for the meal.
If you come from city centre on Ipoh Road, make a U turn at the traffic light after Komplek Mutiara (shopping mall). The shop is situated on the left immediately after the turning and don't forget to give a call if you want the "Sang Kut" BKT.

Let's Cycle to Sg. Pisang somewhere near Karak Highway

I met up with Farid & Jer Ping at Ampang Park for our journey to Sg. Pisang. This was my first time to Sg. Pisang Waterfall. Some cycled from home, some met up at Setapak and it was a Deepavali Day.
Together with Kook Keong, Chris Ng & Anne Cheong we headed to Jalan Gombak towards Genting Sempah. Somewhere before the Orang Asli Hospital we turned right for a complicated hike to Karak Highway.
It was one hell of experience we had to climb up using the drains & cutting through thick bushes.
Carrying our bicycles and going through these obstacles was indeed very challenging.
We made it to the top at Karak Highway. Yeah...one for the successful attempt... Farid slipped and fell on the slippery concrete drain while climbing up and suffered some small bruises on the leg fortunately nothing severe.
The highway was packed with vehicles moving out of the city what an exodus.
After a couple of strenuous climbs at the highway we reached the entrance point to Sg Pisang Waterfall.
There were no proper road or track for bicycle and I don't think many have cycled to this place. Only the crazy ones like us will do it.
This is the waterfall at the lower stream. Sg Pisang Waterfall is located near Karak Highway. GPS coordinates is 3.317068,101.732774 and it's about less than 30km from KL.
We moved further up the stream, I have heard of people going to Sg. Pisang by hiking and never by bicycle. When Farid proposed this I was intrigued and interested....going by bicycle...how interesting and let's do it.
This spot was ideal and a perfect place for picnic. I have to bring & share food next time as I have never had this habit of picnicking....hehehe I am learning.
The water was clean and cold....
Natural water jet pool .... cool and cosy.....
Some of the pictures I took during this trip.
The six of us after a good rest and fun at Sg. Pisang.
Back to commando activity...and for the highway.
The U turn and a tunnel for our homeward bound. It was a hot and tiring journey back home. What a memorable day on a Deepavali.

Ilham Spicy Nasi Kukus with Herbal Fried Chicken @ Mutiara Damansara

There was one evening where 8 cyclists rode around in the vicinity of Bukit Kiara and ended up themselves at Mutiara Damansara.
We found a secluded corner at Mutiara Damansara for food and we love it.
The steamed rice is known locally as "Nasi Kukus" hot from the steamer and ready to be served.
This is a self service shop and Step 1 - Take Your Meal Here.
Step 3 - Pay Here....go check this place out.
Take the food not me.
It must be popular with several write-ups of this Nasi Kukus Ayam Goreng Herba.
Curry gravy of several kinds flooding the entire cup of steamed rice with anchovies, pineapple & sambal belacan. Of course, the herbal fried chicken was the highlight of it. Truly yummy and spicy.....sweat as you eat for some who can't stand spicy food but we simply love it.
We named our ride as "Wednesday 1106 Kukus Ride" and we shall be back.
