Ka Soi (家嫂) - It's been a long time since I last visited this place

Originally Ka Soh (家嫂) used to operate opposite Ritz Carlton Hotel at Jalan Bukit Bintang but have moved to Jalan Delima and a branch at Damanasara Heights. In actual fact Ka Soh was made popular in Singapore many many back.
Fishhead Noodles (鱼头米粉) is the most popular dish in this place and a must try dish. The milky soup is actually not made of milk but finely grind fish bones. The soup is awesome.

The Toman fish fillet is fresh, tender and delicious and rice noodle is fatter than the ordinary beehoon.

Toman fish congee is equally gorgeous.
and a truly Cantonese cuisine.

The fragrant of the fried ginger (finely sliced) was so distinguish and couple with delicious bite of deep fried frog legs which makes the food so perfect for our beer.

A supposedly wonderful dish for beer drinking deep fried pig intestines. It was too crispy I guess this round it was over fried.

We must be drinking a fair bit of beer; most of the dishes ordered were to supplement the drink.  Deep fried thick slices of pork belly.

Prawn Paste Fried Chicken (虾酱鸡) marinated with special prawn paste, another signature dish of Ka Soh.

At lastly a steam fish head “Song Yee Tau”.

Luck Kee Seafood Restaurant - Happy Birthday to Teoh Guat Teng

Happy Birthday Guat Teng aka AChan.

A treat from Hwee Wen to celebrate her mum’s birthday at Restoran Lucky Seafood at Paramount Garden, Petaling Jaya.

It was a wet Sunday evening pasar malam was hit by the rain but not at Lucky Seafood Restaurant.

First dish was "Kam Heong" La-La clams. A bit salty and nothing spectacular.

Luck Kee’s Burger Tofu was special and delicious. Like any burger there will be something in between, there were awesome ingredients in it and also on the top of it. A highly recommended dish here.

An old fashion lemon chicken eaten since my early years of savouring “Tai Chow” The chicken was a bit dry with less tenderness of chicken meat found.

Fried pork meat flavoured with prawn paste was an excellent choice, good aroma, crispy on the outer surface and juicy in the inside. Good choice indeed.

Sweet and sour fried grouper fish was good but nothing to shout about.

Roast duck was good too but not as good as the one opposite. (Loong Foong is just opposite Lucky Seafood).
What a good looking cake with frozen mango on the top and cheese cake at the bottom. Very attractive cake indeed and more of an ice cream cake to me probably due to the frozen fruit.
More of this cake visit www.purplemonkey.com.my.
Another happy moment with my in-laws with a good reason to celebrate and have free makan…..

A Charity Game - WE Golf 2011

In the name of charity and for a good cause we were requested to support this golf game at Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (KGSAS). WE Golf 2011 was basically a game to raise fund for YB William Leong & YB Elizabeth Wong.

The response was tremendous and the city folks are always generous when it comes to charity.

Heng Nam Hai Coffee Shop for a Wan Tan Mee

I was back to this coffee shop at Jalan Kepong Lama to try new food from the many food stalls in this eating shop. My last visit can be seen here.

This time I tried the Wan Tan Mee with melting Char Siew so to say.

The BBQ pork or “Char Siew” was very shining with a thick coating of caramel and obviously looking very attractive. The Char Siew was sticky, it sticks to the chopsticks and also sticks the teeth. If you fancy sweet and sticky Char Siew then this should be your plate of noodle.
I like the noodle. It was chewy and interesting to bite. The Chicken Rice stall will be my next target.

Restoran Lucky Loke @ SS3 Petaling Jaya

Lucky Loke is a good place for a decent “Tai Chow” in the vicinity of SS2 & SS3 surrounding. In the daytime the shop is famous for it pork noodle and the name of the shop is called “Restoran Kean Fatt”.

Our first dish was Assam Curry Prawns. The flavour of the assam curry was just nice and the taste of the fresh big prawns was delicious not forgetting the wonderful aroma of the assam curry. Thumb up for this one.

The lady boss recommended the day’s special braised chicken. The meat was tender but nothing really spectacular.

The next dish was Lucky Loke’s signature Tofu with its magical gravy of minced meat. It was everyone’s favourite.

Hakka braised pork belly was also another good recommendation. It was also the day’s special.

Juicy fried pork ribs over at the next table for the younger generation. They were not really impressed with it. Maybe they would have enjoyed the Hakka braised pork instead.

Also at the next table their veggie was a Belacan stir fried Kangkung. They love this one.

At our table our veggie was this delicious “Pak Choy” fried with a bit of yam & small dried shrimps. It was good.

We were lucky @ Lucky Loke to have the availability of fresh & big Bamboo clams that weekend. It was fried in “Kam Heong” style and was magnificently fantastic.

And finally came the popular Garlic Fried Fish, we opted for Tilapia fish. There were plenty of garlic, green chabai burung, cilantro and its tasty sauce. Nothing was left from this plate it was really gorgeous.

RSC ABC Medals 2011 @ Templer Park Golf & Country Club

I have posted this event for three consecutive years. It is the Royal Selangor Club Golf Section ABC Medals and it was held just like the previous year at Templer Park Golf & Country Club.

Everyone was getting ready to roll while the drizzle was fading away.
The weather was excellent and a beautiful day to enjoy the beautiful golf course. It was superbly scenic.

I had the honour to play with our Convener Dato’ Harisharan Pal Singh and Dato’ Colonel Juspal Singh.

All cheers goes to our Convener, Dato Haris for having arranged such an excellent package for the members of RSC.We walked almost for the entire game and it was indeed a good day to walk.

At last we were at the last hole and it was time for happy hour.

The dinner was good and there were plenty of drinks for everyone.
The response for this game was overwhelming and there were several new faces participating and a good welcome to them. We hope to see you more often in the future events.

As usual some won and some did not but don’t be despair.

Try again next year.
