Sunday Breakfast @ Restoran Pan Heong (品香吃家小馆) @ Medan Batu Caves

A son accompanied by a dad and a mum on his way for a camp vacation at Batu Caves has decided to have breakfast at Restaurant Pan Heong.

It was about couple of minutes passed 9 in the morning, the crowd was slowly growing and by the time we finished our food there were patrons waiting for tables at the five foot way of the shop. What a fantastic business Pan Heong is enjoying.

The porridge is popular here and we opted for fish (haruan) slices & pork ribs porridge (RM12.50). It was ideal for the parent as they were having slight sore throat.

The above two dishes are superb add-ons for a great meal of porridge, what a perfect cuisine.

Bihun (Rice Vermicelli) fried with canned pork belly (扣肉) (RM16.00) was another popular dish though it was oily but tasty.

Ban Chien Koay a.k.a. Apom Balik (Peanut Pan Cake) @ Setapak

Ever since I was a kid I love to eat this pan cake called "Ban Chien Koay" in Hokkien at the northern states of Peninsula Malaysia and it is also known as "Apom Balik". I still love it very much.

The Apom Balik seller spreads the batter on the heated pan evenly and making sure it is not too thick.

Then sprinkle some pound peanut, sugar and margarine into the pan.

And not forgetting to add on some sweet corns to enhance the flavour and excite the taste of a Ban Chien Koay.

At last the family size Ban Chien Koay is ready, cut into 6 manageable bites and eat them when it is piping hot. RM3.00 for this pan cake.

Suchan Deli @ Section 11 Petaling Jaya

Probably the humble story of Suchan started @ Section 11, PJ sometimes in 1995 and the food is still as good though they have expanded to places like the Curve at Mutiara Damansara.

Mushroom Soup is superb which was blended with a variety of specially selected mushroom. It was rich and tasty.

Nyonya fried Chicken Wings served with "chincalok" sauce.

Prawn & Mango Salad dressed with freshly squeezed lemon juice and palm sugar. Truly a great taste of a good salad.

Thai Laksa is supposedly the signature cuisine of Suchan.

Crispy skin salmon served with mashed potatoes, mixed salad and orange mint sauce.

Tiramasu cake was gorgeous and if you want to learn to bake such cake and there are classes available at Suchan that you can attend.

Walk a mile for a Healthy Congee at Chinatown Kuala Lumpur

I was troubled by the possible consequences of high blood pressure and also the doctors' advice on the kind of food I should eat. I walked a mile or more to a shop called "Kedai Hon Kee" and treated myself a bowl of RM6.00 fish congee.

Kedai Hon Kee has been in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur since 1949 and is still standing there to serve you congee or porridge. That is a long time indeed.

It comes in two servings, one is the slices of raw fish (Grass Carp) and a bowl of hot congee. There are also other kind of porridge sold here too.

I just want to make sure that the fish is really cooked, I dumped the entire plate of raw fish into the hot congee. The slices of fish changed colour and definitely it's cooked. What a way to start my day with a healthy meal in Chinatown.

After a satisfying breakfast at the Street of Petaling, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Good Malay Food @ Sri Ayu Seafood @ Sri Gombak, Kuala Lumpur

Let’s go to Taman Sri Gombak for a new discovery of good Malay food. And this is the warong where Sri Ayu is found with plenty and plenty of dishes for you to choose.

The crowd was encouraging the food must be good and we went grabbing for ours. Truly a Malaysian paradise for food is found here in Taman Sri Gombak. Most importantly the pricing is reasonable and making Sri Ayu so popular and will come back for more.

It was only for lunch and the choice is magnificent from appetizer, starter etc etc to dessert they have it all.

The deep fried chicken at the entrance with boiling oil in a big wok welcoming you into the paradise of Malay food.

My associates were busy helping themselves with the variety of food, some from the wok itself. And Nazar was at Ulam (Malaysian salad) corner and at the wok for chicken gizzard).
Fish delicacies of so many types just pick the one you like best.

You can complete your meal with fresh Malaysia mixed fruit called “Rojak” and some sweet dessert. It’s simply a wonderful place to have lunch here in Sri Gombak.
