Pudu Popular Curry Fish Head

A weekend & family get together dinner where we hardly do it in the weekdays. After we picked up Shou Yi at Setiawangsa LRT Station, we drove to Imbi for our dinner. We wanted to have Bak Kut Teh but we have problems such as getting car park and the BKT shop closed so at the end we were in Pudu area. We picked a popular Curry Fish Head shop and also managed to secure a parking space right in front of the shop. Below are the dishes we ordered at this shop and images captured using Shou’s HP camera….
The ever popular dish of this shop is the Curry Fish Head. But my worthy judges commented that the Sri Rampai Curry Fish Head is better despite the presentation of the Pudu’s is better and appealing but not the taste.
The steamed Village Chicken was the best among our list, everyone enjoyed it.
As usual a dish we can not avoid sweet and sour pork for Zu Yi. Without that we will be in an unnecessary argument….so a dish of sweet and sour pork then problem is solved….

White fresh Tofu and topping of fried shallot & dry shrimps, another favourite dish of my younger kids.

A prawn dish that is below par, the prawns are not fresh and the dish is oily. Moreover, it is costly, avoid it if you can.

Vietnamese Noodles Sri Sinar, Segambut

This is a revision of my previous posting of this Vietnamese eatery place at Sri Sinar, Segambut dated 15 October 2007 where I took Jo & Zu Yi here at Restoran Kah Hing. This time, Shou Yi has the chance to savour the food and he loves it.
The Lady Boss, a Vietnamese has changed her dishes to suit the taste buds of the locals, you see no basil leaves, no mint leaves and no beef here in Kah Hing. That is what the local want it to be.

Vietnamese rice noodle serves in dry style or known as “Kon Loh Koay Teow” which comes with fine chicken stripes, minced pork meat, dark soya sauce, taugeh and lard. It is smooth and fine in texture.
A small bowl of soup with 2 nice fish balls for the dry noodles.
This is the interesting part of the adventure, stewed pig trotter with a egg in this clay pot. What a delicious dish to supplement our breakfast.

A popular dish of Vietnamese Spring Rolls, fluffy on the outside but crunchy on the inside.
Sauce for the spring rolls.
Powerful dry chilli powder for those who want extra chilli oomh in their food.

Plain koay teow soup is delicious with fish ball, pork and chicken.

This Vietnamese coffee is a must try for coffee lovers.

A Morning Walk to Tsun Jin High School

This is a good morning walk to school in the city where you breathe in the polluted city air especially from the commercial vehicles on the road. A walk you will enjoy old architectural of Kuala Lumpur.
The no of railway lines at Kuala Lumpur Railway Station is not as many as other cities in the World, we have only 4 railway lines here at this station.

This is the old beauty of Kuala Lumpur Railway Station which is still in operation. The main activity of the train station has moved to KL Sentral.

1971 Form One Sultan Badlishah School

Most of my classmates here were previously from the same primary school (Sekolah Rendah Tunku Abdul Malik), which is just next to this secondary school @ Jalan Kelang Lama, Kulim.
We were fortunate to meet new friends from Sabah, they were Sahat Sadikun, Ambrose Chin, Kassim Putih, Raymond and Arbait Boro. Unfortunately, we have lost contact after we have completed our fifth form. Hopefully one day we will bump into each other and share our good old memories. I am seated at the extreme right.

Our form teacher was Miss Loh Guat Sim, wonder where is she now?

Beggar Chicken @ Ulu Kelang, MRR2

You need not have to travel to Banting or Ijok to have beggar chicken, you can get it in Ulu Kelang itself, just along the MRR2 and near Zoo Negara. The name of this place is called “New Heong Kee Restaurant” Just call 03-4106-8698 or 016-393-2632 to place your advance order which is required for clay baked dishes because it takes approximately 8 hours to slow cook the foods. These are stoves seen next to the eating area. The foods are either wheel barrowed or shoved to a point to break up the clay for the cooked foods.
Today is Labour Day, Jo decided to give a treat for a good reason and I have to plan for one as usual but this time of a different set up. Our first counter at this unique place was the beggar herbal duck, then the ever popular chicken. The stuffed fish paste fish. The tofu for the children. The melon soup or Chang Sheng Pu Lao Soup. The Oyster glutinous rice. Pork Ribs. My favourite one, the pork stomach, pig tail, etc…. very nice and tasty…Stir fried vege. Mr & Mrs Ung enjoying the dinner before adjourning to Bistro 32. One for the album with our good old neighbour, my mother and Shou Yi. The meal was sumptuous for a total of 8 adults & 5 kids for a cost of RM320.00 including beers and other soft drinks. The only set back was it is non air conditioned and warm, could be better if the place is cooled down…
