Cuti Cuti 1 Malaysia Bike Ride @ Putrajaya

Before 7.00am there were thousand of cyclists flowing in to check their registration and to collect their goodie bags at Putrajaya Square.
There were two categories the Jamboree that goes into dirt tracks etc etc and a leisure ride that covers plus minus 20km. This is the leisure category waiting to begin after the Jamboree.
The Minister of Tourism visited us at the starting line and a surprise to see her with us.
A big contingent from Indonesia joined the fun too. Selamat Datang sahabat sahabat dari Indonesia.
There were all kinds of people all kinds of bicycle and all for one purpose to have fun on a lovely Sunday in Putrajaya.
Our kaki foldies assembled at the frontline and waiting to rock & roll.
Yes!!! The siren is on & let's pedal.
The kids too had a good time so were the birds flying above us.
For those who have not visited Putrajaya before, this is an example of a good time to enjoy the beautiful scenery of this federal capital.
A mother space ship that has just landed in Putrajaya and the riders are were approaching to welcome any aliens that might be landing.
One of the three pit stops where water & banana were provided, this photo shows the ride was about to recommence with a safety truck in front.
The bananas were big and tasty a good source of energy for cycling.
One of the many type of bicycles that came for the carnival these are fixie bikes .... I don't think it's suitable for uncle like me.
Beautiful colour was everywhere bright and flashing as long as there are riders the colour will be there.
My neighbours, Tey family have succumbed to my deadly poison and they have happily and willingly taken up cycling. I am glad they have enjoyed the ride and they are now looking forward for more events...bravo keep it up.
This scene looks like a revolution about to be executed at an administrative capital with thousands of cyclists invading the office.
Time to have lunch and lucky draws. Shade was limited at the Square we took shelter at the fringe of Dataran.
It was lengthy closing ceremony, we were getting restless and wanted to move on to another agenda.... that is to eat again at a seafood restaurant somewhere nearby.

While waiting I tried this cute little bike, "Pacific Carry Me" that belongs to Andrew Ng. Such a cool tiny vehicle vroooom....
After the lunch at Putrajaya Seafood Restaurant, Taman Botani we rode back to our respective cars and head for home.
It was a good leisure ride covering a distance of around 23km. A fantastic outing for thousand of cyclists from all over. Thanks to Ministry Of Tourism and will be looking forward for more of fun events.

Pan Mee Specialist @ Jinjang Selatan, kuala Lumpur

A Pan Mee specialist as acclaimed on the signboard and it took me two visits to post this.
Our second visit in the morning for breakfast was better and it was cooling and a smaller crowd.
Broad Pan Mee topped with anchovies, sliced mushroom, fried shallot and a bowl of soup with two fish balls, bean curb sheet and veggie.
One thing for sure this stall is all about Pan Mee,  This was my first visit and I opted for a pinched dough with thick gravy known as "Loh". The chill sauce is green in colour and a bit sweet.
On a hot day this place is like a sauna, I was sweating profusely even before I started eating.
A bottle of vinegar to add excitement into your Pan Mee delicacy.
Though it was hot under the metal roof but the people just do not mind the heat as they all love the Pan Mee more.
Land marks that might help you locate this stall.

SS2 Two Fatty

I have seen this shop changed hands many times and all have failed to sustain the business and I noticed that the Two Fatty is doing fine for a long time. Even though it's near my in-laws' house I have only visited Restoran Two Fatty recently and quite like the food there. Below were some of the food we tried for a lunch and a dinner.
Wow a papaya pickles and I love it.
The captain recommended this for my beer drinking friends deep fried pork belly and it was well fried not salty and perfectly lovely with the beer.
Kangkong belacan another carefully stir fried with no worry of saltiness and the aroma and taste of this crunchy kangkung was imminently yummy.
Steamed succulent wine favoured prawns on lotus leaf was gorgeous. It was fresh and juicy.
Braised pork trotter was well prepared but I find it a bit plain in the taste whereas my buddies like it, so it a matter of personal preference.
Braised chicken in Soy Sauce with egg and Tofu.
Steamed bean curb with fish paste.Smooth and soothing tofu dish.
Chef's special spicy chicken pot
Deep fried sotong with salted egg.
Enjoy your food and beer while the waitress take care of the trotter.

From Bentong to a Hot Spring & a Waterfall

It's riding again this time we are heading to Bentong, Pahang for an adventure to a hot spring and a waterfall. This was the route we rode on a beautiful Sunday.
I reached Bentong town early for a must hunt of a Wan Tan Mee stall by the name of "Hooi Kee"

开记云吞面 and this time I got them as I have failed on my previous attempt.

I ordered a bowl of soupy WTM and it was gorgeous, what a good start for the day.
The time was 6.30am and the coffee shop was already filled with customers.
If you are interested to check this place out, look for this shop by the name of Yuen Kee

源记茶餐 which is located opposite an Indian Temple.

Half and hour later we gathered at RHS Bank the organiser Andrew Ng gave a briefing to the group and a total of 30 plus riders attended this ride.
Let's go.....
The bulk of the riders adjourned to this shop for a meal of Dim Sum & WTM.
The many folding bikes and others parked right in front of the shop while the owners happily eating inside.
The ride going to the hot spring of Bentong through durian orchards and such a lovely canopied road. This is the old road linking Kuala Lumpur and the east coast. It was then a very popular route before the Karak Highway was built.
Many took the chance to soak their feet in the hot spring while others would mingled around the pond.
A spot pit at a durian collection point on our way back to Bentong town as we need to pass by the town for our next destination.
A mandatory stop at this famous shop @ Bentong for a icy cold ice kacang and ice cream @ Kow Po.

That is Chamang up the hills, that is where the waterfall is located and more to ride to get the spot.
At last a sign that relieved us our agony of climbing.
Ultimately I reached the destination with such a beautiful view . A must visit place if you are in Bentong.
My desperate attempt to savour durian at Chamang Waterfall came true.
A friendly vendor opened several fruits for us and all for only RM6.00. That was our first session of eating a local durian.
Our second session of durian somewhere on the way down and this time the durian was magnificent  The name of this durian is called "Beruang King" creamy and heavenly delicious,
After having so much durian and I was still  hoping to bring back home these king of fruits but just could not do it with my bicycle.
A group of us took a group photograph for remembrance.
Some of us stopped over at Bukit Tinggi Village for a sumptuous lunch before we parted our ways .

A journey that toiled us approximately 57km with interesting climb and rolls especially the stretch nearer to the waterfall. It was indeed a beautiful Sunday and an enjoyable ride.
