Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice 禤记瓦煲鸡饭

Welcome to Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice founded by Madam Heun May Lan since 1985 located at the end of Jalan Yew.
The clay pots are charcoal fired top and bottom, the top fire is on a metal lid which assist in an uniform cooking of the chicken meat and creating a stronger fragrant to the rice.
The many charcoal stoves flaming to cope with the ever crowded patrons, it is advised to call and order earlier to avoid any prolong waiting in the restaurant and alternatively you can call for a take away.
Fried Chicken wings might not look attractive but it is tasty and juicy, my wife and sons have vouched on it. My sons wanted more instead of 5 pieces only.
Thai fried Taufu with sauce and interesting topping on them. It is a kind of taufu bakar but not charred.
Poached lettuce simple yet delicious and crunchy.
Chicken preserved vegetable soup was Zuyi favourite and he suggested that he would like to have a bowl by himself the next time we come back.

The lady boss Madam Heun at the cashier counter, happily appreciating the success of her claypot chicken business.
Madam Heun's signature Claypot Chicken Rice 瓦锅鸡饭 is a must try dish among the many dishes in the restaurant. Just like a standard KL claypot it has the well marinated chicken, lap cheong (Chinese sausage) and a small piece of salted fish fillet. But Madam Heun does it differently the claypot is double fired top & bottom.
The menu found on the wall with a variety of choices to pick.
My family waiting patiently for their food and it ended up a happy evening with full satisfaction and endorsement.
Let's go and check this shop out and experience another marvelous food in Pudu.
