Malaccan Chicken Rice Ball has been popularly available at places of tourist attraction such as Jonker’s Street. But the locals would prefer to eat theirs at the suburbs like at Batu Berendam.
After a brief checking, we found this shop at Batu Berendam “Huang Chang Hainanese Chicken Rice”.
The 30 number of rice balls (for 4 people) were unique but not as tasty as for the usual oily & grainy chicken rice.
The poached chicken was found not so nicely chopped & presented.
The ready hand made chicken rice balls in a rice cooker & the chili sauce is dull with hardly any character in it.
There other thing about Melaka Chicken Rice, they don’t serve with soup and sells no other type of meat. It was a bit boring just to eat the balls & uninteresting blanched chicken meat.
Maybe I will stick to non Malaccan Chicken Rice unless someone can prove me wrong. Frankly speaking I would prefer to eat those in Kuala Lumpur .
