We reached Teluk Intan (formerly known as Teluk Anson) around 11am and spent a little while at this landmark of Telok Anson before proceeding to Sitiawan. A visit to the famous Cheong Cia Gong Pian near Courts Mammoth, Sitiawan. A long queue at the shop awaits us just before noon and a news of the cong pian being sold out was lashed upon us. No more Gong Pian!!! On the bright side we had the opportunity to see how Gong Pian being made. Still not satisfied with the bad news we tried to persuade the biscuit makers for a taste of the freshly baked Gong Pian. And we got it with our sweet persuasions and Hock Chew connection for a piece. It was not free, 60 cents for this particular piece and had to be shared by the deserving people. Those who tasted it, said "it was yummy when it's still hot…."
My father in law tried his prowess in his Hock Chew dialect to lure for more Gong Pian but this time no way just look at the human line for the biscuits.
