Three friends gathered at a Chinese restaurant for a lunch at Brickfields, along a main road of Sambanthan (just fronting Brickfields Police Station). It is a single storey building structure with several eatery shops you will not fail to find it. We ventured into these dishes:-
Kangkung belacan – a localized fried vegetable, fried to the right taste.
Steamed herbal village chicken in aluminum foil – it’s delicious.
The chili sauce for the chicken - just like the the one for Hainanese chicken rice.
A fish – tilapia steamed in Teochew style where many would think it’s a bad idea because tilapia is always associated as a fish with mud smell. But we found that this dish is well cooked & yummy. No mud smell at all. I guess these days tilapia stays in a cleaner environment no muddy situation anymore and no more muddy smell…..
I heard there several popular dishes in this place like steamed fish head, chicken boxing and many more. We will try them the next trip.
