Good Morning Padang Serai

Once upon a time, there were young boys and girls whom used to frequently mingle among themselves (sometimes loafing) during their schooldays in a small cowboy town known as Padang Serai. As time goes by, we went our separate ways north south east and west and since then some of us had no chance to meet up and just got to lead our own lives.
Some of us have not seen each other for almost 30 years or so and finally we were able to meet at Seri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. Thank you to Fish Leong and her concert which has made this meeting possible.
It was a surprise meeting for Ooi Bee Tin and Tan Hooi Kean as they have expected to see Seoh Choon and myself only but I have secretly requested Lee Soon Heng, Chen Teck Chan and Sim Khong Aun to attend this breakfast. What a great moment for us. So much to share about our old friends and happenings that some of us are totally blurred.

Seoh Choon & Hubby arrived later at Pan Ki Dim Sum.

These three Padang Serai friends staying at Klang Valley but ironically we hardly meet except for David Chen Teck Chan.
After a brief meeting at Seri Petaling Hotel we adjourned to Pan Ki Dim Sum for our breakfast (near by). I picked Pan Ki Dim Sum because of this special bun “Guy Pu Pao” Chicken Nest Bun. You get chicken, mushroom, salted egg yolk and glutinous rice in it.
The rest of the Dim Sum has nothing to shout about but a mere typical local dim sum nothing like those prepared by Hong Kong experts.

And most of all nothing like our “Meeting of the Year”.
