It is a holiday season now and time to get the family to visit my mother back in Penang with our good neighbour, the Ung’s family. After a quick stop and lunch at a shop next to Thean Chun at Ipoh Old town, we left for Tambun for some seafood snack.
Bukit Tambun is located at one of the river mouth near Penang Island but it is on the main land side. And somewhere in Bukit Tambun we ended up in this restaurant, “Restoran Makanan Laut Gee Seng”. A place with thousand of house flies…….. I guess this is the main characteristic of this place.
The poached helicopter clam, I enjoyed picking the clam with the tooth picks and tasted very good with the sambal belacan.
Crabs fried with salted egg were delicious and fresh.
The steamed scallop though small in size but it was succulent and fresh. 
The steamed big mantis prawns with roe were very tasty but were the most expensive among all the dishes we ordered. Just be careful about it.
Good snack but Zuyi don’t seem to like seafood and the house flies ready put him off.
These four members love their seafood.Somehow psychologically I felt that my toes were uneasy, probably it’s some kind of inflammation coming up, uric acid going up, gout coming soon so on and so forth….not now please as I was thinking maybe after this Penang makan trip…..
