Grand Imperial Restaurant @ Bangsar Shopping Complex

After our beer session @ La Bodega we went up to Grand Imperial Restaurant for some good food.

We started off with the most expensive dish of the night, Buddha Jumps over the Wall, RM98.00 per person. A very rich soup and off course very tasty and it smells good too.
Crispy Siew York minus the fat part and the wonderful Char Siew, done the Hong Kong style, yummy yummy...

Black and sweet coated sauce big prawn was succulent and delicious. Chinese dinner always come with at least a dish of vegetable, a simple stir fried veges is the best.
Before the dessert, we had a bowl of carbohydrate, fried beehoon.Sweet Mango dessert with loose pamelo and a scoop of ice cream in it, what a fantastic dessert. Had to secrectly loosen my belt.....
Mr.Leow Yuen Leong is the person responsible for spoiling us in such a wonderful indulgence.

Fish Ball Noodle @ SS2, Petaling Jaya

This stall serves very good fish ball noodle, they were once operating in Kuala Lumpur at Jalan Raja Abdullah / Jalan Yap Ah Shak Junction. At an old corner prewar house which is now used by a courier service company. I am glad they are still in business but this time operating in a small stall at Restoran Okay, Jalan SS2/10, Petaling Jaya. The type of noodles varies from Hor Fun, Loh Shi Fun, yellow mee and beehoon. The fish balls are very bouncy and tasty. The texture of the fish balls is slightly coarse which are different from most others. Other than fish balls the dish includes fried pork belly, chicken meat, dried tofu stuffed with fish paste and fresh veges. All these for only RM4.00 per bowl. Go try it and you will like it.

Koay Teow Th'ng @ Argyll Road

It was time for our breakfast where our Dad has already had his earlier. Yong Lim wanted Prawn Mee but after several rounds of hunt we were unable to find one. Maybe it was still early, at the end we ended up at Argyll Road at a side lane for Koay Teow Th’ng. A typical bowl of gorgeous Koay Teow Th’ng for breakfast. What a tasty soup (it’s chicken soup). A side order of all the wonderful ingradients they can offer at this stall. Pig blood, pig intestine, small fish balls, bigger fish balls, chicken meat, chicken parts, pork meat, pork tendon & meat ball (the brown coloured one). Mom & Bee Leng enjoying their breakfast. Yong Lim has to opt for KTT instead of prawn noodle. Anyway, it was a great breakfast for us.

Ching Ming Day - A day for Dad

It is a day to remember and honor one's ancestors at grave sites. Young and old pray before the ancestors, sweep the tombs and offer food, tea, wine, chopsticks, (joss) paper accessories. As for me, I was ready to pay my respect to my Dad at Batu Gantung (Penang Turf Club), we left for Penang at 5.15am from S.P. We arrived at Leng Aun Koe at around 6.20am the sky was still dark but the crowd was slowly building up. My brother and sister busy preparing the necessary offer to Dad. The ritual ended with the burning of our offerings to Dad things like a car, gold bars, silver bars, money, clothings etc etc all to ensure that he will have sufficient to use in the other world. Other scene nearby..As we leave the place the sky was getting brighter (note the beautiful rainbow) and the time was 7.30am the traffic was getting worse especially coming into the place for Ching Ming.

Re-visit Jinguzi Restoran for Dinner @ Sg. Petani

After a good round of golf at Harvard Golf & Country Club, Bedong we headed back to Sg. Petani with our tummies very hungry. Yong Lim took his family to Jinguzi for dinner.Steamed Tomyam Fish RM26.00 - The soup was great not that sour just the perfect taste.
Braised Pork Leg RM15.00 - What a wonderful and delicious dish.

Penang Prawn Mee @ Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

I have always given good recommendation for this Penang Prawn Mee at Tun Dr Ismail and I realized I have never blog her Penang Hokkien Mee before. Today I have the chance to savour it one more time but I think the level of msg has increased, felt a little bit thirsty after the makan….
This time the prawn mee costs more and it is now RM4.00 per bowl at this crisis of recession. Talk about inflation at the wrong time….
This corner coffee shop is located at Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 1 of TTDI where at the opposite side you can see a Perodua Showroom.

Lunch at the Riverside of Muar

After I have finished my appointments I went for a quick lunch at the river side of Muar. A fantastic view from the place where I parked my car. There were many stalls around the car parks and most of them were closed. What a waste with such a wonderful scenery and yet there is no business at this place. Only 2 stalls are in business one selling Indian food and the other Malay food. These are what I ate for lunch at the Malay Stall. Assam Pari fish (small piece). Curry fish (a small piece of black pompret) with vegetables on the rice and a glass of lime juice for exactly RM10.00. Not that cheap I guess…. But the meal was lovely indeed.

Our new Job Site @ Muar, Johore

All the trees and light vegetation have been cleared, removed from site and we are preparing to import earth to fill up to the required levels at this nearly 4 acres land. No thanks to the raining day which some how has hindered the progress of the works.

Breakfast in Muar Choice by Accident

It was approximately a 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur to Muar Town via Ayer Keroh Malacca route and it was about few minutes passed 9a.m. when I arrived at Muar Town. Time for food in the morning before I have to visit a bank for some official matter. I saw this structure; guess it’s one of many landmarks in Muar. And I stumbled into his coffee shop. Ordered this (RM4.00) from the Teochew man and a glass of cold black coffee (RM1.30). There were so many pork spare parts in the bowl what a wonderful bowl of pork soup in Muar and with a small bowl of rice to go with it.

Medan Selera Kheng Heong - Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur

Three friends gathered at a Chinese restaurant for a lunch at Brickfields, along a main road of Sambanthan (just fronting Brickfields Police Station). It is a single storey building structure with several eatery shops you will not fail to find it. We ventured into these dishes:- Kangkung belacan – a localized fried vegetable, fried to the right taste. Steamed herbal village chicken in aluminum foil – it’s delicious. The chili sauce for the chicken - just like the the one for Hainanese chicken rice.A fish – tilapia steamed in Teochew style where many would think it’s a bad idea because tilapia is always associated as a fish with mud smell. But we found that this dish is well cooked & yummy. No mud smell at all. I guess these days tilapia stays in a cleaner environment no muddy situation anymore and no more muddy smell…..
I heard there several popular dishes in this place like steamed fish head, chicken boxing and many more. We will try them the next trip.
