LaoMaZis Home Cooked Dishes 老妈子家乡小菜 - Revisit

A lunch at Ipoh Road arranged by AS Lee with Simon Ngu, Tan Eng Kiong and myself at Laomazis. The place has altered slightly moving the dining place into the basement of the building due to a construction work at the adjacent lot. It used to be at the side of the building.

ChinCai Steam 招牌蒸 – a black tilapia fish – this dish has been a regular choice whenever we are here at Laomazis, guess it must delicious that warrants a continuous indulgence of this taste.

Doggy" Duck (Dry) 狗仔鸭 (干) – this funny name attracted Simon to order this dish.

Brinjal with Basil Leave 九层塔茄子 – this veggie is tasty despite it’s slightly oily.

Bitter Gourd stir fried with egg and carrot – I would pick this veggie as favourite between the 2 veggies on the table, my love for bitter gourd and egg is undeniable.

Smoked Pork Belly 燻花肉 – A good recommendation for our first timer like Simon. He enjoyed the smoky flagrant & unique taste of pork belly.

Sometimes in December 2009 I posted my first visit at Laomazis.

Hi Tai Lim,
Thank for your greeting. Hope your New Year will be a Prosperous and enjoyable.
Carol & I did went back to Malaysia for 2 weeks during CNY. But we mainly spent a quiet time in Seremban looking after my dad who is unwell and nearly 90. Did a short 2 day trips up Ipoh & Taiping. We did not even meet any old friends as promised. We find it so hard to meet people due to the traffic and also weare not familiar with the Road in KL & Klang valley, so many Highways lah. May be next time.
