Day 4 - Visit to Kek Lok Si Temple @ Air Itam, Penang

A trip which refreshes my memory of my last visit to Kek Lok Si Temple probably 30 years back and lately with our neighbour and family we visited Kek Lok Si Temple in conjunction with the completion of the magnificent statue of Kuan Yin.

We took the opportunity to savour the famous Air Itam Laska, as expected the place was crowded and we had to eat it at the food court opposite (fortunately they could bring it over for us).

The laksa is still very delicious since the last time I tasted it.

If I am not mistaken it used to have more fish meat in it. Anyway, it was delicious.
Over at the food court, we tried the Mee Goreng Mamak, it was so good that we ordered another plate to share. I guess most Mee Goreng stalls in Penang are of good standard and always better than others in Malaysia.

Even the ABC, Ais Batu Campur was delicious. It beats most ABC found in Kuala Lumpur. Again, I do not know why KL can not produce such good ABC.

Before the hike, we traded for some Penang Muar Chee.

Under the hot and blazing sun a wonderful lady selling Penang Muar Chee from her mobile stall at entrance of Kek Lok Si Temple. It was fun walking up to the temple even though some find it tiring.
