1st Dinner @ Haikou City 海口, Hainan Island 海南, China

This is our first dinner in Haikou City 海口 and we were brought to this Ai Wan Ting Restaurant 爱晚亭.

This is an interesting dish a mixture of braised beef stomach (nice looking honeycomb), tongue, duck wings, gizzard and tofu at the bottom.

Char Siu was delicious but not as sweet and sticky as those found in the land of Malaysia.

Our buddies love to eat, drink and chat. After finishing the Tour’s dinner we ordered for more two dishes (braised dish & Char Siu). What a way to enjoy our holiday.

Hainanese Chicken just likes the one we have it in Malaysia, as good and yummy…

This dish is another interesting & delicious cuisine, I thought it was pork belly and attractive looking pig intestine. It was not pig intestine but soya bean strips nicely prepared.

Steamed flower crabs with pounded ginger. The rest of the dishes are nothing really special.

After the dinner we adjourned to Baohua Harbour View Hotel. Checking into the hotel required your body temperature to be recorded before you can get your room key. Then it’s time to finish our quota of whiskey of the day.

Haikou Golf Cup @ Hainan Island 海南, China - Day 1

Our golf journey to China finally came as planned, to Haikou City 海口 of Hainan Island 海南 for a golf tournament (Haikou Cup) organized jointly by local Tour Agencies & Haikou Tourism Board. This trip cost us approximately RM1,800 each for a 4 Days 3 Nights break inclusive of 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners.

Besides equipping ourselves with golf clubs and balls, we have to equip ourselves with a bottle of whiskey each for the trip.

This must a scary experience for Wei Teck as he was identified by a Health Officer at the airport as a possible victim of AH1N1 from the Thermal Scan and was asked to be observed by another Health Officer fully in white protective suit in a separate room. After a couple of minutes of checking he was cleared, his temperature was alright and allowed to enter China. Welcome to China.

Due to a delay of 1 hrs 45 mins by Air Asia. We have to skip our lunch and head for Hainan Dongshan Golf Club, a 6,995-yd golf course designed by our own Malaysian Mr. C J Tan.

We were lucky to finish the 18 holes in time before dark.

A scenic golf course with lots of rubber trees and coconuts trees.

Complimentary Hainanese coconut - each for everyone of us.

Jan & Siew Wah really to tee off....

Danny Chan executing a perfect tee off at the Tee Box.

And Koh Pee Kiat in a sand trouble......

Arthur's Day @ Sunway Lagoon 25 September '09

It was a BOOM BOOM night, a night for the celebration of Arthur’s 250 years of “Or Kowaka black dog in Hokkien dialect at Sunway Lagoon. The BOOM BOOM night was made possible by Black Eyed Peas and of course Guinness de Company for the free flow of the wonderful draft all night through… the black and lovely aroma of Guinness Draft.. Thanks again Guinness.

The sad part was, I was booked @ a block stop @ somewhere near Kiara / Penchala way… What a way to end a night (sorry already early morning). A BOOM BOOM Night….well, that’s my ticket for the BOOM BOOM night.
